Dr. Skoglund has been my psychiatrist for over five years. He was the first to accurately diagnose my disorder and provide the treatment I needed to improve my mental well-being. I have the utmost respect for him and am never disappointed with my visits. He makes you feel very comfortable and is understanding no matter what you tell him. He responds quickly to any questions about medications and is very helpful in finding the correct med(s) you need. Unlike the above reviewer, I have not found him to let you leave without the information you need regarding your med(s). Further, he will often give you sample kits so you don't have to spend money on a prescription before you know whether or not the med(s) work for you. In addition, his staff are very kind, great to talk to while you wait and quickly respond to requests for refills, etc. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Ada works with both of my daughters, and is such a blessing. She listens to them and treats them as her own and not just as patients. She recognizes the individual differences of each child. You don't have to try to pronounce her name, she just goes by ""Dr. Ada."" If you are tired of searching for the right doctor to meet the needs of your child you have now found the doctor you have been searching for. Dr. Ada has an open heart and mind!! Good luck to all the parents out there struggling to meet the needs of their children!! Dr. Ada is in your corner!!

Dr. Ada is an exceptional physician for adolescents. It isn't easy finding a psychiatrist that treats adolescents AND is taking new patients. In fact, we found only TWO in Austin. Of course, if your child has been an inpatient then you have many more choices. After trying both doctors we chose Dr. Ada. I say we, but really my child chose & I think the decision was spot-on. It's been a year & things couldn't be better. Dr. Ada is easily accessible, truly cares for her patients and has an excellent understanding of teenagers, as she has at least one of her own. I highly recommend her!
7.Austin Neuropsychiatric Clnc
720 W 34th St2.39 mi Austin, TX Physicians & Surgeons, PsychiatryPhysicians & Surgeons
My experience has been quite different. I have seen many psychiatrists and Dr. Brown is one of the best I've had. I find him very compassionate. However, he will not coddle you. I like this about him. Should your train of thought stray from the subject matter at hand, he will bring you right back to it. He does not waste your time and money. He has a dry sense of humor which is not apparent until you get to know him. One or two office visits are not enough to see if you click with a psychiatrist. He/she will still be in the process of evaluating you.\r \r While I agree that the office staff is not as friendly, as in other settings, I am not there to see the office staff. In fact I feel that the less the office staff knows about me, the better. He also does not charge any more than other psychiatrists I have been to.
