Worst bicycle shop experience ever, and among worst customer service I ever experienced.Ordered a bike to the store to be assembled. Was told it would come at the latest 4 business days later, it took double. Then was left a voicemail from Vince that said during assembly it was damaged cosmetically, and that a warranty was being filled out and I would get a call back saying to pick it up once damaged fender was replaced. I waited several days with no news, then I called and inquired, was told they were waiting for news from manufacturer, and while on the phone I asked about low price guarantee, I was happily told by the person on the phone that all I had to do was bring in the receipt and advertisement of exactly same bike. I happily said I would wait until the next day, which is when I was told I would be called back. I waited 3 days and decided to call on my own, this is when things got worst. Crawford was horrible in terms of his customer service attitude, I was told by him that he had only filled out the warranty the day before and not the week before like I had been told, I was also told that they only match their own prices regardless of the fact that it says differently on their website, I pointed this out and he offered a price match only with a brick and mortar store, saying he was only placating me. I said that I was hearing different things each time I called and was then confronted with 'Ma'am what do you want me to do', I was outright that I expected compensation for this treatment and the fact that I had to take a taxi to work everyday. He then said he could only give me 10% discount but I would have to take a damaged bike. I am returning the bike I never received. I came to this store because of a recommendation by a friend and the rave reviews on yelp, this is not at all what I expected. Poor communication, no sympathetic action taken, only hollow words, and most of all rude customer service.

I wouldn't normally write a bad review unless it was an absolutely awful experience. Here is what happened. I recently purchased a bike and built it up. I needed brake lever clamps and some brackets to attach my brakes. I walked in to the store and went to the mechanic area. There was one mechanic working and which didn't acknowledge me for the first 5 minutes. I understanding how frustrating it is to constantly be interrupted when trying to work on a bike waited. After about 10 minutes I asked for some assistance. She gruffly came over and asked what I wanted. I proceeded to explain that what I needed. She said she didn’t know what I was talking about and had to go get someone. 10 minutes later a guy showed up. I once again explained I needed brackets for the brake calipers. He went got a box of un-organized brackets and dropped it on the counter and walked off. Neither one of them were any help what so ever. I then went and put my bike in my car and asked to talk to the manager. Turns out the guy was the manager. I asked him why he just left me high and dry and he said it was because they were busy and short staffed. I will never come back to this store again and will encourage everyone I know in the cycling industry and community not too as well. There are bike shops in Austin that actually care about their customers. If I was the owner of this shop I would not be happy with how they treat customers. Especially re-peat ones. Way to go performance.

Legen....Wait for it...Dary!These guys are great! I just moved to Austin about 6 months ago, and was in need of a bike shop, but not in a big hurry. Naturally, my car decided to throw a temper tantrum. Who knew the check engine light could actually blink? So, I'm stuck without a car, and a bike that needed new tires and a tune up, but no way to get it to a shop to be fixed, or so I thought. ATX Bikes went out of their way to help me out. Within an hour, Brett was at my apartment to pick up my bike and take it in for me. He quickly assessed my repair needs, and made some recommendations as to other things to help me make my bike a safer and more comfortable commuter. Within a short time frame, he called me to let me know it was ready, and then delivered it back to my apartment, ready to go. The quality and value of the repair and add-ons was great, but you cannot put a price on customer service like I received. This is why I will be back for future needs and purchases. Any place will take your money and fix your bike, few places would go out of their way to pick it up for a new customer with minor repair needs, and even fewer would do all of this without hesitation. TL;DR Go see the Biker Bros at ATX Bikes!!!
