Hyatt Regency Austin
This hotel has a great location on lady bird lake and close to everything. I checked in early and they were very accomodating. However the room was not that great on the third floor. I requested a room change to a higher floor and they upgraded me without charge as I was staying for 6 days. That was great! The room on the 15 th floor had incredible views of the skyline and lake. I could also see congress street bridge where the nightly bat watch is in full effect. The people were very nice however, the hotel could use some upkeep...some dirty sidewalks in front and back deck was not kept clean and inviting. (that is why only three stars..they should have a four) I am sure when it first opened it was pretty great but the wear and tear is showing now. Food was really good though. I would stay again, just would make sure I had the same room or better.Service was excellent!

Motel 6
We had an extended stay. Office and Maintenance Staff very helpful and gracious. Housekeeping Staff lacked English speaking skills so it was difficult to communicate need of towels and toilet paper. Dryer broke during stay, difficult to share one dryer with numerous people trying to do laundry. Pet friendly, excellent amount of green space to take dog for walk around hotel perimeter. Plenty of parking. Surprised with the amount of hotel guests who smoked. At times, motel room smelled of cigarette smoke. It is a nonsmoking motel. Wifi caused laptop to work slow, kept losing connection. Would stay again, highly recommend the motel. If any concerns during a stay, don't hesitate to speak to the office, they wanted to make our stay comfortable.

Sleep Inn & Suites Austin North - I-35
Nice, clean, very quiet place, with very friendly staff and a pretty good breakfast. The assistant manager Gloria is truly an asset to the hotel, very friendly, professional, and quick to resolve any problems or issues, and very knowledgeable of the Austin/Pflugerville area. Like the spacial arrangement of the beds and flat screen TV. My only complaint was that it was hard to find the turn-off from I-35 at night when I first tried to find the place. Will definitely stay here again.

The Tallows
It's not quite as filthy and disgusting as it once was before the management change. There seems to be a quiet type of malaise that looms over the property. While it still suffers from bugs and roaches, some units are MUCH better than others. Police still show up there on the weekends due to some domestic problems but no one has been seriously injured since I've been a tenant for 2 years.

Austin Motor Inn
Very nice rooms , , way better than any of the other "transient" weekly rooms, for about the same price. Maybe $10 a week more, but with cable, internet that actually works, security, pool and cleaning service that actually works - and supplies toiletries. Though the web site lies about the price, it's $285 week, not $240, but WELL worth the extra few bucks a week.

Hilton Hotels & Resorts
The seats in the conference rooms and ballrooms were comfortable. The Internet was strong. The Hilton had the nicest and cleanest bathrooms of all the hotels used for SXSW Conference venues. There wasn't as much available seating for chilling out between sessions, but what was available was good.

Austin Suites Hotel
Had a business meeting in Austin, this property offered us good rates and a friendly environment. Seeing the peace officer at night, made us feel even more safe and secured. Would definitely stay for the next meeting in November. Rooms were clean and peaceful, very decent for the price.

La Quinta
Friendly, efficient staff, good breakfast, coffee all day, and best of all they have a beautiful fenced in courtyard and I was able to let my dog wander around off leash when no one else was out there. We visit Austin often and this will be our go-to hotel from now on.
