I'm really upset that my son was put at risk when he received a safety from them. The bolts to the brakes were not put back on and just came to relize that the gas tank was coming off. Then when calling him to fix this he said he was too booked up. I think that my son should've been put first considering the job wasn't done right. Safety is still seven days to the deadline. He was paid a huge substantial amount and could have honoured his commitment to safety and squeezed him in to fix it considering my son purchased the item to hold his gas tank on. We will be taking legal actions that could of been avoided had they just repaired the work that should've been done to begin with for a safety. We will be in touch. I'm very disappointed with this service.

People are always in search of a favorite restaurant, a mechanic, favorite clothes store, favorite gas station, hair salon, favorite doctor and so forth. When a person finds such places, they continue to return to because of, customer service, quality of work, atmosphere, location or price. Of these, at the top of the list is customer service, it’s what brings a customer back time and time again. There is a gem of an auto mechanic right here in Austin. I’m fortunate to be one of their regular customers because of their customer service and downright hospitality. Their quality of service has always been top notch; they do stand behind their work. Their price is very completive and very fair. I’ve been a customer of theirs since 2014 when someone recommended I take my car to Jukes Auto. It has been the best recommendation I have ever received. There have been numerous times I’ve had mechanical problems with the cars I’ve owned, the quality of their work have always been top notch. Customer service? Well, that has been nothing less than excellent. In the time since 2014, I’ve taken my car(s) to Jukes Auto; I’ve learned Jukes Auto is also involved in the Austin Community. I’ve met several people who recommended to find one of many of Austin’s “homegrown” restaurants, to me that also applies to car mechanics. Austin’s diversity is just one of Austin’s many strengths. As a transgender female, I have always been treated with respect and dignity by everyone at Juke’s Auto. A year ago, I had a headlight go out, I took my car by, Donny one of the shop managers got me in and taken care of right away. Two weeks ago, the same headlight went out, I again took my car in to, this time Mike, took care of me. Not only was my headlight replaced, Mike noticed I also needed an oil change. To me, this was taking care of me the customer. On 13 August, I again had a car problem, only this time the problem was with starting. After contacting USAA, I had my car towed to Jukes Auto. On Monday morning, I spoke with Mike, he said they already had my car in and was about to run the diagnostics. At 10 a.m., Mike called me to inform me I needed a clutch switch replaced, then he gave me an estimate of when they would have it ready. Like many people, I too depend on my car for transportation to and from work as well as to places like Wal-Mart, HEB, SAMS, Alamo Draft House, Kerby Lane, Patsy’s Cowgirl Café, UPTOWN, Wet Salon, Wax That and many other places. I had concerns there was a more serious problem, I was relieved to learn it was a clutch switch. Within three hours later, Mike called me to inform me my car was ready; I was pleasantly surprised my car was ready so fast. When the young man Bo arrived to give me a courtesy ride to pick up my car, he informed me the next day would be his last as he was returning to college. He said he was saddened to leave Jukes as he really enjoyed working for Mr. Jukes for the summer and had learned a lot. He also said he didn’t want to leave Austin. I was impressed by this young man’s politeness as well as his statement of enjoying working for Jukes Auto. It also demonstrated Jukes involvement in the community. Upon picking up my car, my gas hand was nearly on empty, which was taken care of by Jukes Auto. In the day’s since taking my car in, it’s never run better, it’s started every time, Word of mouth is the best testament to any business on quality of work and customer service. As I have done for a very long time, I will continue to spread the word about Jukes Auto. Jukes Auto is absolutely worthy of Austin’s BEST of Austin’s mechanics not only for 2017, Jukes Auto is Austin’s BEST MECHICHIC ….PERIOD !!

Do not take your car here.This is a crappy mechanic, the only thing they know how to do is run an OBD scan (for the not car savvy this is free at any auto parts store around the country but Youniversal Auto Care charges $90).Brought my car in and was very clear about the symptoms, what I wanted them to focus on and what I believed I was causing it. There is no way they ever spent more than 10 minutes on my car and continued to blame a sensor I told, and had proof, that it was not. None the less I decided to trust them and let them replace it. They replaced a sensor that was not broken prior and I have the same problems now as I did before.Disregarding the fact that I believe I was lied to multiple times, if they would have spent 10 more minutes they could have proved the 'supposedly bad sensor" was not actually bad and saved me some money. But that would have made them less.Find a better shop with people that actually know something about cars.

Jeep saga update:So, got a 2nd opinion/diagnosis. No valve issue, no engine overhaul. Picking it up on Mon for a grand total of..........$375! ����..much better than $2300 from Lamb's, those Bastards!!!

I ve been going to Gilberts auto repair for 7 yrs. He has worked on 3 of my cars. He has always tried his best to be fair; accurate; and mechanically sound. He will try to work with your financial situation if he can. Nobody; and i mean Nobody; in Austin does that anymore. Gilberts is one of the last shade tree mechanics you will find in this town. Go ahead and try to find a cheaper mechanic in this town for any estimate on any auto work. You won;t.

I went to get my car emissions tested at a different place. They couldn't read the computer. The battery had been disconnected and that resets the computer. The shop I had it at couldn't figure it out and told me to try to get a waiver from DPS.So I took the car and went to Christian brothers for help. Fred, who I had been snippy with last time, took it and told me there was a little trick to this and he fixed for free. Didn't even charge me for labor. I love these guys they really know what they are doing and no matter who you are they try to be the best they can be and dang they are good!

Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
