Austin Hardwood Flooring Inc.
I was looking for wood flooring and got an estimate from a few places. One of the many places I went to get a bid was Home Depot in the Brodie location. The salesman went to my home and used an electric instrument and spend some time to give a bid. I got another bid from a contractor I found thru a friend and compared them both. The one from The Home Depot was allot lower in square footage than my friends contractor. I was a little nervous so I Google hardwood floor installation Austin and found Matt Garcia and his company located on Anderson Ln. inside The Tile Guys. The concept made sense, cut out the middle man, sale wood flooring and tile at competitive prices and use a contractor that has done wood floors as their specialty and nothing else. I am glad I used their services, because after getting the estimate from Matt , I found that other companies were not measuring right and seemed to be thousands of dollars higher. All this company does is wood floors and it showed in the installation. Besides a few scratches on the baseboards, their installation was fast and nicely done. They also gave me a cleaning kit to use afterwards. I will pass on their contact info to all my friends for sure.

Lone Star Floors
We had 910 sq ft installed (544 of wood; 364 of tile) as well as new baseboards and it looks FANTASTIC. They were on time, finished when they said they would, and budgeted almost perfectly. Jose (lead installer) is very thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. I totally goofed when it came to pay the final 50% balance after inspection--didn't allow enough time for my tfr from savings; asked Bill if he'd consider taking a check and just not cashing it until three business days later once they money was in the account and he obliged. Bill was very reachable via email throughout the process. His prices are VERY fair compared to what you'll find around town. I appreciated Bill being a straight-shooter-he's direct and easy to understand. I'd recommend them without question. There's also a two-year warranty on the labor. All in all, for our first flooring experience, we are thrilled with how it went, start to finish.

Al Michael's Carpet Cleaning
Almichaels installs flooring. They have incredible customer service and helped with a problem with my rent house. Another carpet cleaning company (I’ll never use them again!) used a degreasing solvent to clean the bedroom carpets, making the house uninhabitable due to horrible chemical fumes. I had the carpet removed, but needed new flooring fast so that my tenant could occupy the property. Almichaels answered their phone at 8:00 p.m. on a Thursday evening and was at the house before 8:30 a.m. the next day. We settled on a moderately-priced laminate and the floor was installed by 1:30 p.m. the following Monday. They did a great job cleaning up. The floor is beautiful and my tenant was able to occupy the unit on Wednesday. Responsive! Fast! Professional! I will use Almichaels the next time I need flooring and would recommend them to anyone needing a laminate floor.

Lone Star Floors
I spent quite a long time talking with Bill, the owner of Lone Star Floors. Although, he thought I was sarcastic when I thanked him for considering my small job which came to a charged square footage of about 150 of laminate including scrap pieces. I was actually serious and even though there was a small job labor assessment I was satisfied with the contract. My conversations with him led me to believe he had knowledge and experience with both floors and their installation. I did have to adjust a bit to his personality but I believe his primary interest was a good job. His installation team was experienced and worked consistently until the job was done in about 4 hours. I was particularly happy with how they fitted the pieces at the closet entrance. I was very satisfied and would recommend Lone Star Floors to a friend if the need arose.

Castle Flooring
VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!! Julian & Stephanie were amazing to work with. Stephanie spent a lot of time with my wife and I, explaining what our options would be on our new shower tile, what would be most appealing, what was popular, and what to avoid. She was able to steer us in the right direction without deviating from our vision. We were under time restraints and Julian was more than accommodating. He worked around our schedule and was very critical of his own work. The end product, our shower looks amazing! We will return for our flooring when we start that project. Home improvement projects are always a huge venture and Castle Flooring put our nerves at rest. If you want a quality product installed by someone with years of experience, Castle Flooring is who you are looking for. Thanks again Stephanie and Julian!!!!

Al Michael's Carpet Cleaning
Al Michael's did a spectacular job cleaning my carpets! I am truly amazed! I bought a home and was ready to rip out the carpet; the carpets looked so old and dirty all throughout the house. My plan was to just get the carpets cleaned so I could tolerate them until I could choose new flooring. I had no idea that Al would be able to revive the carpets. But, he did an incredible job throughout the house including the staircase. Even better, his pricing was far below anyone else I called. Plus, I found out that the company not only does carpet but they are also experts at all types of flooring. The best part of the day, though, was just talking with Al afterwards; I feel I have a new friend; someone I can trust to get a job done right and to be fair and honest.

Lone Star Floors
Fantastic Experience from first phone call to final piece of wood being installed. Found Lone Star Floors on the web as a vendor who could get their hands on the flooring we wanted from Southern Traditions. Bill was very helpful from the beginning, and answered all my questions with no fluff or attempts to upsell in any way. I did my due diligence in comparing prices from other companies in town, and Bill was able to beat the price of all others by $2k. When it came to installation the crew was fantastic. Work area was kept clean, and all the guys were professional, and showed their diligence and work ethic to deliver quality workmanship. In the end my $6k investment added no less than $15k in value, and we could not be happier.

Lone Star Floors
I am extremely happy with my new floating click and go floor. The installation was extremely professional. With most contractors in the building trade you have to stay on top of them to make sure the job is done the way you would like. Lone Star just did the job right the first time. They did two rooms and the stairs. The stairs are particularly tricky to do, but they did a really good job. So much better looking than the tacky beige carpet installed by the builder of my house. I'm happy with the product that I chose, the Australian Cypress is the right blend of character and tone to keep the rooms bright and spacious yet have some visual appeal. I chose Lone Star because of their experience in the industry. It was a really good choice.

Al Michael's Carpet Cleaning
wow, I see Al Michael's already has plenty of awesome reviews and I'd love to add to it, just a little side note story my husband called and told me that he found a huge stain in the living room and dining room carpet after thanksgiving ( we had all the family and all the kids over for a few days) and I told him he needs to have to taken care of before I got home because our carpet is fairly new! well when I got home this wknd I was amazed that it was well taken care of and looked as if nothing was ever there. I was also impressed at the fact that they took care of it and were able to come out right away! I had to come on yp Austin to write a review!

Al Michael's Carpet Cleaning
Like most consumers, you ask friend, co-workers, and family to recommend "services businesses" to you. AlMichael's came very highly recommended by some friends who had wood flooring installed in their home about 7yrs ago by AlMichael's. AlMichaels laid some tile in my new addition and wood. Al knowledge of materials, installation, and designs truly reflect is 30 years of experience. The work product was excellant, his workers were clean & neat, but most importantly Al is honest and timely in completing the job. I highly recommend AlMichael's Carpet's for tile & wood flooring. Will call you again in the future!!!
Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.

Just a moment...
