Loved the ambiance as soon as I walked in. I wasn't expecting the dark wood, candles, and cool vibe of the restaurant.Bailey was our server for the evening, and she was awesome. She went over the extensive menu and offered suggestions on what to try out. I appreciated the fact that she was really engaging throughout the entire meal. The music...was so not expecting the music that was played. Outkast, Ludacris, Biggie--I heard songs I haven't heard in the longest time. So dope!Okay, the food. I had the Salmon Belly, which was great and tasted very fresh. I also ordered the Scallop and Avocado roll. I just wish there were more than 6 pieces. But it also worked out because the menu's more tapas-style, so you need to save room for more food. I asked for the Miso Sake Kama (honey miso marinated salmon collar), but they ran out as I waited for it. So I tried the fried squid legs--not bad. This spot is definitely being added to my usual rotation.

Ra Sushi
Great spot for sushi in the heart of midtown! The sushi is always fresh and I love the atmosphere here: Very modern and upbeat. The outdoor seating is primo for people watching, and I love that there's an indoor-outdoor bar you can sit at. The menu changes seasonally, but some of my favorite staple items are the garlic edamame and the Viva Las Vegas roll. Before your meal, go for one of the seasonal unique cocktails, like a peach basil sour. More details here: http://bit.ly/29FLs1f

Benihana
I typically visit this location because I work in the area. I would imagine that most of the business consists of that and tourists. It is located near Marta so for tourists it is relatively convenient. The location is in the lower level of Peachtree Center so you will not have cell phone service :) The food is good for what you would expect from the chain and the service is ok. I suggest making reservations as the wait can be a bit long.

Ra Sushi
I have such a hard time with Ra - the food is SO, so good, but the service is always so, so bad. I eat here quite frequently and love all the sushi as well as the bento boxes and the garlic edamame (a MUST). The service, however, is always slow and unapologetic, even when they mess up your orders (which happens a lot). Unfortunate that they can't get it together or I'd be a much more regular customer.

Kiku Japanese Steakhouse
Have a taste for Hibachi? KIKU offers a variety of dishes from the Hibachi grill as well as tons of Sushi options. My go to is the Hibachi chicken and shrimp with fried rice. When I'm out with my girls we sit at the grill to get that personal touch from the chef. When I'm by myself I sit at the bar and chat with the bartender while enjoying a sushi roll. Great atmosphere, warm and inviting.

Benihana
I can't stand this location. The staff is rude and ...yea rude. The valet are usually pretty nonchalant. I don't even understand how it gets to keep the name "Benihana" above the door. The worst Benihana I've ever been to and I've been to at least 7 in different places. Go to the one downtown if you're in the mood for some extra garlic butter and yum yum sauce.

Ra Sushi
Ra Sushi is a go-to place for happy hour. This is the only time I ever really go. The prices are great ranging between $3-$10 and there's a wide variety of items on the menu. Parking is easy and they validate for up to 2 hours. Some of my dish recommendations are the garlic edamame, shrimp tempura roll and the viva las vegas rolls.

Ra Sushi
Great place for the best sushi in the city. I absolutely love the Shrimp Tempura Roll and the "RA"ckin Shrimp (my two faves). Every time I frequent either for Happy Hour during the week or a night out on the weekend I'm never disappointed with the food nor the service.

Taki Japanese Sushi & Hibachi
Hibachi is always a fun family experience. The folks at Taki are nice and attentive. Chef Teddy was hilarious! Filet was a bit over cooked and thinner noodles would be better. Meals are pricey - shrimp and filet was $26 - but, then again, you pay for the experience.

If you are hungry, this place is definitely not for you. The food is expensive and very pretentious. This is a place if you want to have few bites and dont mind paying a lot for these few bites. Sevices is just OK as well.

Just a moment...
