General InfoWelcome to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. We are honored that you have trusted us to care for your child's healthcare needs. We will do everything we can to help both you and your child feel comfortable, safe and secure. Please feel free to ask our staff questions. Let us know what we can do for you and your family. At Children's, we strive to enhance the lives of children through excellence in patient care, research and education. Whether treating an injured toddler in an emergency or supporting a teen through a series of chemotherapy treatments, we take our commitment to care for each and every child who comes through our doors very seriously. It's through teamwork at every level of our organization and with you, the family, that we are able to achieve a high level of excellence in pediatric care. Choosing a healthcare provider for your child is an important decision. There is a lot to consider, especially the fact that children and adults are physically different and so are their healthcare needs. Children should be cared for by pediatric doctors, nurses and specialists who understand these differences.

My son was born with multiple health conditions, and Egleston is the hospital we must go to because his Neurologist is based out of that location. Unfortunately, some of the Care Staff including Nurses, the IV Team, and Respiratory seem to be lacking compassion in their correspondence with me. My son is almost 1, and is currently on life support, however upon asking what they were doing this morning when the alarms were sounding and they seemed nervous, I received a condescending attitude.
As a mother, I expect two things from a hospital; Compassion and Communication. Sadly, this hospital seems to be completely lacking in both of those areas.
My son has been admitted to Egleston on multiple occasions. Each time, his level of care has never been acceptable. The communication issues that seem to occur between the Nurses and Doctors is unacceptable. There needs to be protocol set in place where, in the event of a change in a care plan, the parent/caregiver is notified immediately, even if only by phone.
I had a meeting this morning with the "House Manager", and during our 30-45 min conversation where I expressed my concerns, I was given excuses. What I was expecting was an apology, not a reason why I need to be the one to pursue getting information more efficiently. It is their job as a care team to communicate with me. There is no way for me to know if a plan has changed.
On a separate note, the cafeteria is disappointing. I know, its a hospital and that shouldn't be a surprise, however, when you see pancakes on the menu above the ordering station, and ask for a simple pancake, but are told "They haven't cooked pancakes in months"...come on. I'm paying $100k for this visit....fix me a pancake.
Even Though The Docters Are Great The Nurses Are Unprofessional And Gossipy. I'm Black My Girlfriend Is White We Jus Had Our Handsome Baby Boy He Went To eagleston Because He Was Premature And Had Problems Eating I Step Out The Room To Get Something Out Of The Car My Gf Tells Me They Ask Her "Does He Beat You ?" If So We Can Get You Help" I Walk In The Nurse Rushes Out And My Gf Tells Me Every thing....and its more to the story then jus that they're all mostly siddity little white girls
