I am completely unhappy with the service this company provides. Their salesman straight up lied to me when he was explaining the terms of what they were selling. When the technician showed up, she explained that their salesmen are known to lie and that it's not cool. Unfortunately, the office was closed, and we couldn't make a complaint right there. If we hadn't already moved all of our furniture away from the walls, we would have declined service. I cannot recommend this company for anyone. You won't know what you're getting, until after they show up and charge you. More details can be found below.A sales agent named Byron came to our house and told us that Aptive treats our WHOLE lawn. When the technician Shannon showed up, she explained that she only needs to spray the perimeter of the house. Spraying the lawn and killing all the eggs in the lawn wasn't part of it. Byron also told us that there was no contract unless we decided to cancel after the first free treatment. In this case, we'd have to pay for the first treatment, but when I specifically asked if there would be a penalty for cancelling at 6 months, he said there would be no problem with that. The service professional Shannon came to service my house two days later with a contract that stated I must sign up for a year or I owe them $229 for the first free service. Byron also told us that their service professionals would clean the outside and INSIDE of our house of spider webs. When Shannon arrived, she said that she isn't allowed to bring a long pole duster into the home due to company policy, and therefore can't clean the spider webs on my second story ceiling. Again, I do not recommend this company at all. Do not trust their sales or business team.

I would like to commend Mr. Romaine Knight on a job well done. He provide prompt service, courteous, and provided valuable information concerning the company and products used. When my husband signed up for the service, the sales representative DID NOT tell us that no children under a certain age could be in the home during the time the inside of the home was being treated. The only thing the sales representative stated to us was the fact that the products was pet and kid friendly. We were unaware of the policy until Mr. Knight informed us the day of the service that children would have to be out of the house for at least 2 hours after treatment. Due to the fact that we were unaware of the policy, Mr. Knight allowed me time to call my husband to see if he still wanted the service. Once my husband agreed to go ahead with the service, Mr. Knight provided the approximate time he would need outside to treat our yard. This was to allow me time to get my children situated and out of the home so that he could treat the inside of the home. Thanks again for a job well done. Aptive, he deserves more than $5.(Wife of Customer Dorneze W.)This rating is based off of the Service technician only....NOT the Sales rep who provided false information.

Titan Animal Solutions
Extremely professional and trustworthy company. I had been dealing with a squirrel issue for a few weeks. I am pretty handy around the house so I thought it could be something I could deal with on my own. After several weeks of frustration I finally decided to hire someone to take care of it. Its a good thing I found Titan! They came out on time (a big plus in my book!) and the conducted a thorough inspection of my entire property. There was minor damage to wiring and my insulation was soiled and matted down so not only were these squirrels keeping me awake, they were making my HVAC work overtime! Not good. The technician also identified all the places the squirrels could access my home. He put together a plan that would remove the squirrels, seal the squirrels out, and he was also able to provide us with an insulation quote (one-stop shop!). It was a big job but the price seemed reasonable so I went ahead and got it done. After a week the squirrels had been removed and the house is sealed. Titan cleaned the attic and installed the insulation the next week. I've already noticed a huge difference in my power bill and of course, no squirrels!!! Call these guys, they are fantastic! I would highly recommend them.

Alterra Pest Control
Alterra has been doing our Pest Control Service for 1 year now and they do a great job. I appreciate that they go to great lengths to try to get every bug out. They've even crawled up on an extension ladder in my screened in porch get some wasp nests out of a very difficult crawl space outside the screen. The technician had to poke at it with a paper clip to reach it through the screen because it was unreachable from the outside. He spent a long time working at it but finally got the nests down and sprayed the area thoroughly. Unfortunately, I don't know that technician's name but he had a great attitude about doing a very difficult and nasty job. Lately, Malon Fuller has been doing our service. He is such a friendly, smiley guy and does a very thorough job treating our house and getting spiders, stink bugs etc. out. He is always happy with a great attitude. The company is always easy to get in touch with and easy to schedule when needed. I would definitely recommend Alterra to friends.

The salesman was pleasant but persistent and had an answer for every question I had so I signed up. The technician, Curtis, was there that afternoon promptly. He started inside but the spraying didn't seem very thorough. I offered to move the fridge and washer/dryer so he could get behind them but he said it wasn't necessary. He didn't warn me against moving my dogs inside right after spraying which in hindsight concerns me. I didn't watch him treat the outside but it sure didn't take long, especially considering I had asked for extra attention to the back porch and patio where we have a mosquito problem. I'd say the total time at my house was 30-40 minutes. Is that enough time to treat a whole house? I don't know, but I would at least like to be given the impression I've gotten my moneys worth. All the reviews here talk about how prompt they are but none about how effective the actual service is...I guess time will tell but I'm not very optimistic at this point.

Our initial service was with Trevor, who was very polite and professional. However, I'm here to rate the pest control not the personability of the employees. I specifically waited until we'd had 3 applications to make sure my review would be fair. We had a huge ant problem on both porches and in the yard. That has been reduced, so that's good. We have also seen a big reduction in insects in our downstairs play room (only 2 spiders). However, we contacted the company 2 days ago because the spiders are taking over our garage and back patio and have yet to hear back. I'm very disappointed as it seems this company is eager to please in the beginning, but service drops off as time goes on. I was urged very heavily to write a review after the first application, which I feel wouldn't have given a good picture of the actual pest control service. I'll update if it gets better, but so far I'm not wowed.

Alterra Pest Control
William Franklin came and treaed our home exterior as well as the interior or my home and deck. I'm writing to express our thanks for having such a great technician. William was professional, thorough and friendly. First of all, he gave us so much service background as he walked around to asses, ask questions and investigate our situation. William did an excellent job communicating our options, ongoing support and ensured we understood all opportunities available. He then got to work as though we were his first client of the day and his top priority, Whatever you do to train for customer service, keep that up! Williams' upbeat, enthusiastic, friendly manner made our interactions wonderful. We so appreciate the services Alterra offers; and to have the work done by a competent fellow like Willaims F. really adds confidence and value.

Andrea H review --- If my initial Service Pro Pablo Barajas is a true example of the service I will be receiveing through Alterra, I am going to love this relationship. He was not just prompt but actually early. He was thorough in his explanations and very professional. He was efficient, explained everything he was going to do and reviewed the contract with me. He also worked out in the rain when I asked him to take a break and come inside or at least into the garage out of the rain but he continued to work and returned to my door when he was completed to ensure I knew what to expect next. I wish he were to continue to be my service technician but he explained he only does the initial visits. I wish him the best in his endeavors. He definately has the WOW factor.

Alexander Termite And Pest Control Co Inc
We've used Alexander for over 20 years for pest control and termite service. For all those years, we basically had the same person treat our home (we had a sub for about a year when our regular guy was deployed in the reserves). He always asked about our daughter and our dog. He just recently retired, and we are excited to meet our new technician, as I know Alexander hires excellent people. We've never had a major problem with pests. For termite control, we have an old house, and they are always honest about when we need - or don't need - retreatment. Pricing is fair and honest. They always call to schedule a treatment. I've recommended them many times over the years and will continue to do so.

Today I met with Lennoy, Aptive service professional. He assured that the products used for the extermination of insects such as roaches, wasps, spiders, etc. was safe for the children and pets; after that he thoroughly treated all the house inside as well as outside. Lennoy was prompt: right at 10 a.m. as scheduled, professional in his appearance and his polite manners, respectful of the owner's property: he put his slippers on while inside the house, and explained when and what the next treatment will be for. I was very impressed by Lennoy, and as a vice president of the Highland Lake subdivision HOA would recommend him to other without hesitation! Thank you, Lennoy!
Tips & Advices
Fumigation is dangerous to pets and humans. Liquid termicides, however, are safe to use around pets.
No. Because termite infestations are considered preventable, most home insurance policies do not cover treatments or damage.
It's best to treat an entire home to ensure the termite infestation is completely eliminated. Spot treating costs less, but increases the likelihood of missed colonies. In addition, spot treatments can make a home unattractive to future buyers.
The cost to eliminate termites varies depending on the method. Bait costs between $150-$300, while fumigation costs $1,300-$2,500. Heat treatment costs around $1 per square foot, so a 2,500 square-foot home would cost $2,500.
The length of time depends on the process used:
  • Fumigation takes approximately five days. The termites die quickly, but homeowners must remain out of the house until the chemicals clear.
  • Bait exterminations can take months to destroy an entire colony. The bait kills termites during the molting process. If an insect eats the bait and does not molt, it is unaffected.
  • Heat extermination takes approximately eight hours and is environmentally friendly. This process heats the home to 150 degrees F.
