AAA Toco Hills Car Care Plus
Thank God for the internet! Information can be shared.Yes, they are friendly - until things go on their way......I told the counter that I would like to have the complimentary 24 point inspection as a AAA member. (it comes with the membership).I told that I have a suspension issue, grinding noise from front driver side when turning, also wobbling when braking. (also a suspension issue, not brake rotor))The receptionist printed out a $99 invoice/work order for me to sign. I questioned the amount ....The receptionist said " I have to pay my guys and your issue is complex.. You pay $99 and it will go towards the repair"........Me: " I am here for the complimentary check-up THAT INCLUDES CHECKING THE SUSPENSION TOO as per your website It is a mechanical issue and you do not need to run any diagnostic test for it. Do not tell me that it is complex. Once you find the problem we take it from there".With frustration on his face he printed another work order that showed that I do not own anything. They took the car and about 3 hours later he handed me a sheet with suggested repairs totaling $1035.Like: - STEERING FLUSH & FLUID * $90 - I did it on my own 10 days ago.- RADIATOR FLUSH AND FLUID *$120 - I did on my own 2 weeks ago- CHANGING AIR FILTER *$28 - I checked it 2 weeks ago, it was perfectly fine- WHEEL ALIGNMENT *$85 - It was aligned 6 weeks prior-FLUSHING BRAKE FLUID *$93 - my brake system is just fine- RADIATOR HOSE (& hose kit???) *$214 - They are fine but if I ever feel changing it I can get the parts at rockauto.com under $20 and change it in 20 minutes or less.Plus other absolutely unnecessary items. ============================================I asked the rep: "did you guys find out the source of the grinding noise:.....Him: " the tech did not find anything. Will you get done any repair".....Me: "Thank you but no thank you sir. Nothing is needed done from your list".I started to drive the car the grinding noise was still there. I stopped and grabbed a screw driver. I put the screw driver trough the wheel opening all the way until it touched the dust shield next to the disc brake rotor. Then I made a strong push against the shield trying to push it inward. I got into the car and "voila" no more noise. I was able to figure it out and their tech did not!!! ( I have absolutely no background in car repairs)============================================It is nice to believe that AAA is there for you. They suppose to be the store front of AAA but they are a milking factory. I am not going to renew my AAA membership after this. If you are a lady ( and no experience in this field ) or a person not knowing much about cars BE VERY CAREFUL!!!. You will end with some very "VERY IMPORTANT" up-sell repairs (that you do not even need). If you question them about their practice they have very good "script answers" for every situation. They are old pros, you just can't win.........If you hope that their 10% AAA will make a difference.....it won't. They inflate their prices so much that even after the 10% is taken off, you will be still ripped off. I should have paid more attention to their negative reviews on other sites. Well, never again. I would rather hire a Craigslist mobile mechanic.I hope this helps someone.

Buckhead Auto Care
I started going to Larry Johnson's Buckhead Auto Center over a couple of years ago when I was in graduate school and on a tight budget. I needed to find a mechanic who would not overcharge me, so I did my research and read reviews for different mechanics in Atlanta. My most recent experience only affirmed my high opinion of Larry and Buckhead Auto: A tree fell on my car (crazy, I know), and I drove it to the mechanic closest to my house for fear it would not make it any farther. That mechanic gave me a quote that was well outside of my budget. I called Buckhead Auto for advice, and they gave me a much more affordable quote. I got my vehicle to Buckhead Auto, although I got lost along the way as they have moved locations. Hiram stayed on the phone with me to direct me there, and he was kind enough to come stand on Peachtree Road and wave so I would see where the new shop location was. Josh, one of the mechanics, immediately came out to asses my car and speak with me about what had happened. I spoke with Larry on the phone a few days later, and he advised me that because of the high mileage on my car, how old it was, and the damage done by the tree, that I should consider getting a new car. He of course would be happy to fix my car if that is what I wanted, but he told me if I were his niece, he would advise me to get a newer, safer car. He answered my questions, offered advice, and kept my car there for a week and half while I thought out all of my options. He could have made a lot of money off of me by fixing my car, but instead he was honest. I followed his advice, and I traded in what was left of my old for a new car. Despite the time the spent assessing my vehicle and the time he spent advising me, Larry did not charge me for anything. I feel confident and safe in my new vehicle, and I am glad I already know what mechanic I will go to with it!Larry Buckhead Auto Center is not a place where you feel pampered or get to sit in a luxury waiting area, but it is a place where you will get the best rates and will be treated with honesty. If you want an honest mechanic, go here!

Bavarian Imports
Ok, so this is how awesome Bavarian Imports and the owner-Mike are regarding service. I've had a small fleet of BMWs and I go to Mike and not dealerships even if I have a warranty, because Mike and his team are BMW Certified Mechanics. Not only do they have all required tools to fix your Bimmer but everyone there has a lot of experience. Since Mike and I have an incredible relationship, I asked him to please look at my Mother's 2000 9.3 SaaB. He said, "my techs will kill me if I show up with a Saab, but I will do it for you." They spent of lot of time and energy before referring Saab to SJ Automtive on Howell Mill RD. SJ are certified SaaB Mechanics and can actually get certified SaaB parts even though SaaB are no longer built. I have a great review for them coming up but back to Bavarian, Mike and team even went so far as to download codes for this SaaB before discovering he just couldn't get it going. After all, his focus is on BMWs. So he just sent car to SJ Automotive and has not even pinged me to discuss the tow to SJ or charges for work on SaaB. I recommend Bavarian as an exclusive BMW go to shop. Call them. You will be pleasantly surprised at how quickly they get you in and how reasonable repairs are, even if under warranty. Thanks again for reading this...now go call Bavarian!!!

Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire
I have had numerous services done at this Pep Boys location and have had nothing but an amazing experience. Although I often visit Pep Boys for routine oil changes, I've also taken both a Toyota Carolla and Infiniti there for some major service work. My Carolla was leaking oil pretty badly and both the manager, Jose, and Paul, explained (in detail) what was causing the leak. I also had my Infiniti towed there after it had overheated. The next day I got a phone call about what was wrong; essentially I needed a new radiator coil. When I went in to pick up the car, they showed me the defective coil and explained why it needed to be repaired. I got a brief auto lesson and had every question thoroughly answered. Because the repair was pretty costly, they gave me a 10% off coupon which helped reduce the cost.Simply put: I highly recommend this place. The mechanics are always friendly and honest, and Jose goes out of his way to provide amazing customer service. Not knowing very much about cars, I appreciate that I can go to this Pep Boys and not have to worry about dishonest mechanics or repairs I don't need. Five stars.

Ed's Mobile Auto Service
When I met Ed for the first time I knew that this was finally a honest mechanic someone that I knew would be around for a very long time. Ed is knowledgeable, reputable, trustworthy, friendly and extremely NEAT!....Being a single woman and only knowing a little about cars, it is very hard to trust anyone these days. I have had mechanics test my knowledge and try to take advantage thinking I don't know anything just because...But Ed was not like that what he quoted me on the phone was what he charged, even offered to go get the parts for me and also did FOLLOW-UP calls like a doctors office, I have never had that kind of treatment before. I haven't had any problems with my car. He was very responsive, and showed up exactly when he said he would. Ed even looked at another car of mine that I am not ready to get fixed right now, but looked at the car for me anyway and told me exactly what I need to get the car back on the rode and believe me when I am ready he will be the one I will call...I HIGHY recommend ED...he is the one. Ed's Mobile Auto Service
I needed an upper oxygen sensor for my Nissan Altima. Mr. Cunningham explained what an oxygen sensor was and fixed it. After starting the car it would barely move. He found that several things could be causing it. He explained the possible causes, until he found out the one that was causing the problem and fixed it. I thought I needed a tune-up, but I needed an oil change and oil filter. During the oil change, he noticed that I need a gasket for for my transmission pan. When he rotated the tires, he noticed a studs had been damaged and I need a new one and a lug nut for it. Overall, I’d Say that Mr. Cunningham is a great mechanic for the simple reason that: He loves what he does, he’s good at it, and he wants his customers to know what he's doing to their vehicles. His prices are really reasonable too. Will I utilize his services again, ABSOLUTELY! Will I recommend him to others? YES! I already have. Thanks Mr. C.Margaret M.Atlanta, GA

Classic Collision of Buckhead
The fender/front bumper of my Accord Crosstour was damaged in an accident. I took my vehicle to three collision repairs centers for estimates and decided on Classic Collision because they came highly recommended to me. I was very impressed with the General Manager. He constantly kept me in the loop about what was going on with my car and he was always available. During such a stressful time, I never once felt uneasy about the work that was being perfomed or the expertise of their staff. He guaranteed that if I was not happy, he'd personally ensure everything was done over to my satisfaction. Now that's service! Everyone at Classic Collision was so nice and showed a level of professionalism and customer service that was very refreshing. After completion of the repairs, my vehicle looked like it had never been in an accident. I highly recommend Classic Collision and would not hesitate to use them again.

Firestone Complete Auto Care
I normally come here to get my car service and have a great experience, but not on my last visit. I dropped in at about 45 mins to close to get my oil changed. The gentle at the counter advised me that it was to late to get it the service done. This was shocking because I come around this time every time I come in. When he saw the disappointment in my face he asked me to come in the morning. This isn't an option because I work in the morning . I advised him that if it's to late today then it will be to late every day because I get off work at 5pm everyday. He gave me no other option and didn't seem to care that this meant I was never coming back. I went right across the street and got my oil changed at a business that closed the same time they did . This business had no problem with helping me and I arrived there later than I did to Firestone.

Discount Tire
I have been going to Discount Tire for years now. This location had the fastest service. I wonder if it's because it was the first time I made an appointment. Any who I would recommend making an appointment. I bought 4 new tires and it took 45 mins and I was out the door. Dale helped me and he was super helpful and knowledgeable. I would come here again if I was in the Atlanta area and needed tires or help with my current ones. I also found out that they have a warranty on their tires. So they will fix any tire you buy from them if anything happens. If they can't fix it then they replace it for free. If you need a new tire for some reason when you aren't by a Discount Tire, they will reimburse you for the tire you purchased if you bring in the old tire and the receipt of how much you paid for it.

Wrights Car Care
I have been a car owner for over 30 years and have been to a lot of different service shops in my day including the dealers. I have never had such a pleasant surprise when I started using Wrights (as pleasant as getting your car fixed can) They where very professional and attentive to my problems, they called with a estimate before any repairs where done (the price was reasonable because I checked) I felt like they where completely honest with what they recommended and I was able to pick my car up same day and everything was fixed properly. Since I 1st visited them last year my whole fleet of cars (I have 3 children) have been in for service with the same reliable service every time. I thought I would write a review to let everyone know how much I appreciate there great service.
Tips & Advices
Yes. New tires purchased online can often be priced lower than ones at a tire dealership. Buyers can often avoid state sales taxes and locate hard-to-find tire styles and sizes, but will still have to locate a local tire installer and pay sometimes high shipping costs.
The average cost of a set of new tires is $637, with a range of between $525-$725. In addition, installation includes mounting and balancing, alignment, and disposal of old tires.
The vehicle is raised and the old wheels are removed, then the old tires are removed from the wheels. The lug nuts, wheels, and valve stems are inspected and replaced as needed. The new tires are mounted and sealed, then inflated and balanced. The wheels are then replaced on the car. The average installation takes approximately 45 minutes.
Agencies such as the Tire Industry Association promotes tire safety through advocacy and education to the industry including: manufacture, sales, repair, service and recycling. Seek a full-service tire dealer who carries a wide variety of tire types and brands and asks about the type of driving you normally do.
  • Move your car to a safe location.
  • Turn on your car’s safety lights, apply the parking brakes and remove the hubcap if there is one.
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench (but do not remove them), raise the vehicle with a jack and then fully remove the lugnuts.
  • Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare tire.
  • Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the car and then tighten them fully with the lug wrench.

Just a moment...
