AAA Toco Hills Car Care Plus
Thank God for the internet! Information can be shared.Yes, they are friendly - until things go on their way......I told the counter that I would like to have the complimentary 24 point inspection as a AAA member. (it comes with the membership).I told that I have a suspension issue, grinding noise from front driver side when turning, also wobbling when braking. (also a suspension issue, not brake rotor))The receptionist printed out a $99 invoice/work order for me to sign. I questioned the amount ....The receptionist said " I have to pay my guys and your issue is complex.. You pay $99 and it will go towards the repair"........Me: " I am here for the complimentary check-up THAT INCLUDES CHECKING THE SUSPENSION TOO as per your website It is a mechanical issue and you do not need to run any diagnostic test for it. Do not tell me that it is complex. Once you find the problem we take it from there".With frustration on his face he printed another work order that showed that I do not own anything. They took the car and about 3 hours later he handed me a sheet with suggested repairs totaling $1035.Like: - STEERING FLUSH & FLUID * $90 - I did it on my own 10 days ago.- RADIATOR FLUSH AND FLUID *$120 - I did on my own 2 weeks ago- CHANGING AIR FILTER *$28 - I checked it 2 weeks ago, it was perfectly fine- WHEEL ALIGNMENT *$85 - It was aligned 6 weeks prior-FLUSHING BRAKE FLUID *$93 - my brake system is just fine- RADIATOR HOSE (& hose kit???) *$214 - They are fine but if I ever feel changing it I can get the parts at rockauto.com under $20 and change it in 20 minutes or less.Plus other absolutely unnecessary items. ============================================I asked the rep: "did you guys find out the source of the grinding noise:.....Him: " the tech did not find anything. Will you get done any repair".....Me: "Thank you but no thank you sir. Nothing is needed done from your list".I started to drive the car the grinding noise was still there. I stopped and grabbed a screw driver. I put the screw driver trough the wheel opening all the way until it touched the dust shield next to the disc brake rotor. Then I made a strong push against the shield trying to push it inward. I got into the car and "voila" no more noise. I was able to figure it out and their tech did not!!! ( I have absolutely no background in car repairs)============================================It is nice to believe that AAA is there for you. They suppose to be the store front of AAA but they are a milking factory. I am not going to renew my AAA membership after this. If you are a lady ( and no experience in this field ) or a person not knowing much about cars BE VERY CAREFUL!!!. You will end with some very "VERY IMPORTANT" up-sell repairs (that you do not even need). If you question them about their practice they have very good "script answers" for every situation. They are old pros, you just can't win.........If you hope that their 10% AAA will make a difference.....it won't. They inflate their prices so much that even after the 10% is taken off, you will be still ripped off. I should have paid more attention to their negative reviews on other sites. Well, never again. I would rather hire a Craigslist mobile mechanic.I hope this helps someone.

Hennessy Lexus Of Atlanta
I first found Mr. Peter Hennessy's name in a 2/12 "Automotive News" article. He was quoted due to the fact that he is Chairman of the Lexus Dealer Advisory Council. On 11/4/12, I asked his help in finding out why I had a 2 hour drive to my nearest Lexus Dealer, yet Mercedes, BMW, and Hyundai dealers are very close to my home. He not only found out, and diplomatically explained it to me, after going to Lexus Corporate in CA on a business trip, but he also helped me find, and get, with his New Car Sales Mgr.'s help, a 2013 Lexus LS 460 with 18" vs. 19" wheels on it. For some unknown reason, Lexus Corporate was, at first, only sending the 18" wheeled LS 460's to West Coast Lexus Dealers? So, Jay Burnett, the New Car Sales Mgr., suggested the "Pull Ahead" Program which was a new BOS Delivery System that reduced the lee time it takes to special order a new car from Japan from 90/120 days to 45/60 days. I was skeptical throughout the process, but it all worked out very well. I got the car I wanted, in the time frame I wanted it, and Mr. Hennessy kept his word to me that he would give me a price that I was comfortable with, on the exact car/options configuration that I wanted. It was a pleasure dealing with a true professional like Mr. Hennessy who, although a very busy man, and who probably doesn't usually work directly with sales prospects , was prompt in answering questions, and made sure I was taken care of even after he turned my over to others at his dealership. All the people at the dealership were very helpful and friendly, especially Eric Fischer, the sales person assigned to help us quickly learn our new car, when we picked it up after a 6 hour drive to get to Hennessy Lexus of Atlanta. The only negative about my experience is that their Parts Department had totally different information regarding touch up paint for my new car than three other Lexus Dealer Parts Departments had. Mr. Burnett finally got to the bottom of the problem and told me "There was an issue with our system not showing the correct product." The touch up paint was part of my purchase, and the delay in getting it was no big deal, but I still don't understand why their "system" showed something different than three other dealer's systems. All Lexus "Parts" Systems should show exactly the same information on two different touch up paint part numbers. One is the "BC", or "base coat", and the other is the pearlescent top coat.

Buckhead Auto Care
I started going to Larry Johnson's Buckhead Auto Center over a couple of years ago when I was in graduate school and on a tight budget. I needed to find a mechanic who would not overcharge me, so I did my research and read reviews for different mechanics in Atlanta. My most recent experience only affirmed my high opinion of Larry and Buckhead Auto: A tree fell on my car (crazy, I know), and I drove it to the mechanic closest to my house for fear it would not make it any farther. That mechanic gave me a quote that was well outside of my budget. I called Buckhead Auto for advice, and they gave me a much more affordable quote. I got my vehicle to Buckhead Auto, although I got lost along the way as they have moved locations. Hiram stayed on the phone with me to direct me there, and he was kind enough to come stand on Peachtree Road and wave so I would see where the new shop location was. Josh, one of the mechanics, immediately came out to asses my car and speak with me about what had happened. I spoke with Larry on the phone a few days later, and he advised me that because of the high mileage on my car, how old it was, and the damage done by the tree, that I should consider getting a new car. He of course would be happy to fix my car if that is what I wanted, but he told me if I were his niece, he would advise me to get a newer, safer car. He answered my questions, offered advice, and kept my car there for a week and half while I thought out all of my options. He could have made a lot of money off of me by fixing my car, but instead he was honest. I followed his advice, and I traded in what was left of my old for a new car. Despite the time the spent assessing my vehicle and the time he spent advising me, Larry did not charge me for anything. I feel confident and safe in my new vehicle, and I am glad I already know what mechanic I will go to with it!Larry Buckhead Auto Center is not a place where you feel pampered or get to sit in a luxury waiting area, but it is a place where you will get the best rates and will be treated with honesty. If you want an honest mechanic, go here!

Jim Ellis Automotive Group
When my 2005 Toyota Prius suffered a scratch on the bottom panel, I immediately scheduled my appointment with Jim Ellis Collision Center. Let’s face it – they are experts. Even though I am sure all the repair guys are great, we were lucky to get Michael Antonovich. He kept in constant contact with us as to what phase Jim Ellis was with the repair and THE CAR LOOKS LIKE NEW. Even though the car is a hybrid, they had no trouble in fixing it. They even said they had a man on staff that had worked with hybrid vehicles. For those customers who complain that the collision department may be a little slow, please thank your insurance companies. If it weren’t for professional collision centers, consumers would be taken for “a ride” each and every time we went to get our car repaired. From my insurance agent, I received an initial check for $650. The final repair cost $3000. Without the help of professionals who make insurance companies replace damaged parts with NEW parts, who knows what kind of repair I would have come away with? We as consumers do not have it in our DNA make up to have to fight with insurance companies to get the true repair dollar value when we go in to have our cars fixed. I thank Jim Ellis for being there to represent me, to fix my car but mostly for being one of the most courteous staffs I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire
I have had numerous services done at this Pep Boys location and have had nothing but an amazing experience. Although I often visit Pep Boys for routine oil changes, I've also taken both a Toyota Carolla and Infiniti there for some major service work. My Carolla was leaking oil pretty badly and both the manager, Jose, and Paul, explained (in detail) what was causing the leak. I also had my Infiniti towed there after it had overheated. The next day I got a phone call about what was wrong; essentially I needed a new radiator coil. When I went in to pick up the car, they showed me the defective coil and explained why it needed to be repaired. I got a brief auto lesson and had every question thoroughly answered. Because the repair was pretty costly, they gave me a 10% off coupon which helped reduce the cost.Simply put: I highly recommend this place. The mechanics are always friendly and honest, and Jose goes out of his way to provide amazing customer service. Not knowing very much about cars, I appreciate that I can go to this Pep Boys and not have to worry about dishonest mechanics or repairs I don't need. Five stars.

Ed's Mobile Auto Service
When I met Ed for the first time I knew that this was finally a honest mechanic someone that I knew would be around for a very long time. Ed is knowledgeable, reputable, trustworthy, friendly and extremely NEAT!....Being a single woman and only knowing a little about cars, it is very hard to trust anyone these days. I have had mechanics test my knowledge and try to take advantage thinking I don't know anything just because...But Ed was not like that what he quoted me on the phone was what he charged, even offered to go get the parts for me and also did FOLLOW-UP calls like a doctors office, I have never had that kind of treatment before. I haven't had any problems with my car. He was very responsive, and showed up exactly when he said he would. Ed even looked at another car of mine that I am not ready to get fixed right now, but looked at the car for me anyway and told me exactly what I need to get the car back on the rode and believe me when I am ready he will be the one I will call...I HIGHY recommend ED...he is the one. Landmark FIAT of Atlanta
I've got to say this has been one of the BEST dealerships I've ever had to deal with! I let them know exactly what I wanted and where I wanted to be and they made it happen! We had just been to another Fiat Dealer that were so sneaky and horrible customer service that we were very impressed with the upfrontness that these people showed. They had no problem answering any and all questions we had, showing exactly how everything was broken down and walked us through the whole process. They are VERY knowledgeable and shockingly enough FAST. I was in and out of that dealership in an hour! After spending 6+ hours at the other Fiat place the night before it was refreshing! Everyone there was nice, friendly and knew what they were doing. They have a great selection, a pristine dealership and the even better part is that no matter what my question is AFTER I've purchased they still respond, are very helpful and super supportive! I have found the place where I will buy all my cars!!! (My family too!) THANK YOU LANDMARK FIAT OF ATLANTA!!!!

Ed's Mobile Auto Service
I needed an upper oxygen sensor for my Nissan Altima. Mr. Cunningham explained what an oxygen sensor was and fixed it. After starting the car it would barely move. He found that several things could be causing it. He explained the possible causes, until he found out the one that was causing the problem and fixed it. I thought I needed a tune-up, but I needed an oil change and oil filter. During the oil change, he noticed that I need a gasket for for my transmission pan. When he rotated the tires, he noticed a studs had been damaged and I need a new one and a lug nut for it. Overall, I’d Say that Mr. Cunningham is a great mechanic for the simple reason that: He loves what he does, he’s good at it, and he wants his customers to know what he's doing to their vehicles. His prices are really reasonable too. Will I utilize his services again, ABSOLUTELY! Will I recommend him to others? YES! I already have. Thanks Mr. C.Margaret M.Atlanta, GA

Classic Collision of Buckhead
The fender/front bumper of my Accord Crosstour was damaged in an accident. I took my vehicle to three collision repairs centers for estimates and decided on Classic Collision because they came highly recommended to me. I was very impressed with the General Manager. He constantly kept me in the loop about what was going on with my car and he was always available. During such a stressful time, I never once felt uneasy about the work that was being perfomed or the expertise of their staff. He guaranteed that if I was not happy, he'd personally ensure everything was done over to my satisfaction. Now that's service! Everyone at Classic Collision was so nice and showed a level of professionalism and customer service that was very refreshing. After completion of the repairs, my vehicle looked like it had never been in an accident. I highly recommend Classic Collision and would not hesitate to use them again.

Mastercars Auto Sales
Had a great experience with the sales and finance staff. David, my salesman, was VERY quiet (unlike other car sales pros) but very thorough. They had a computer available for customers to print all the docs needed. The sales area is tiny so make an appointment- they get busy! I worked quite a bit with Deborah in Finance to get the payment I needed, the down payment I needed, and a great car. I had choices, which is rare for a buy here pay here lot! My situation was challenging and I was grateful for everyone working together to make it happen and I love my car! Came with a 2 yr warranty and haven't had to use the service center yet, but when I called because the brakes were squeaking a little the service center manager was able to look up and tell me my car came with new brakes! Look forward to working with the team. Tell the sales team Sarah Mason sent you!
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.

Just a moment...
