1.Haw Creek Animal Hospital
1007 Tunnel Rd
Dr. Sinclair is the best of the best. Extremely knowledgeable, thorough, trained in homeopathy and acupuncture as well. Recently we needed an urgent care visit for our senior kitty. Chester ingested some string from a rotisserie chicken and, of course, we were going out of town the next day. It was after 6 pm on a Wednesday and I called the clinic and they recommended we bring him by. Chester was injected with a medication to induce vomiting - and it literally took about 5 minutes and the string was out of his system. The visit was only $82 and we couldn't have been happier and Chester acted like nothing had ever happened. Was very grateful for the expanded hours at Haw Creek and the level of care! Happy to have Dr. Sinclair running Meridian Animal Hospital in South Asheville too! Our furries get the best of care!
2.All Pets Animal Hospital & Rehabilitation Center
7 Reynolds Mountain Blvd
It is almost impossible to find a vet for guinea pigs that is not only knowledgeable & experienced with guinea pigs but also not outrageously expensive - All Pets provides both. The price just for an initial basic appointment - not including treatments/meds if needed - is the lowest I found in Asheville. Dr. Cook is amazing with the guinea pigs and seems to have a lot of experience and knowledge about them. He listens and provides treatment options along with the potential costs of those options. He is pragmatic when it comes to treatments/tests that are extremely expensive and does not judge you when you have to make a decision based on your financial situation. He seems to sincerely care not only for the pet but also for the owner. We chose Dr. Cook for our new rescue dog as well and he has been amazing with her too! Our vet tech Delia is also awesome - she always remembers their names & seems so excited to see them!

4.Dog Gone Gorgeous, Inc.
1190 Sweeten Creek Rd
I'm still in shock at how great our fluffy corgi looks. I've groomed him (now I use that term loosely) thinking we had most of his undercoat brushed out. That was far from reality. He was always a cute dog but now he's gorgeous. It took my remembering a neighborhood labradoodle went there a couple of years ago and I far prefer MaryLynn to her now near competitor. Thanks, MaryLynn.

7.Swannanoa Valley Animal Hospital
100 Martin Rd
Our 11 year-old tabby cat had stopped eating and became lethargic, losing about 4 lbs. in just a week. We visited Swannanoa Valley Animal Hospital where Dr. Howie quickly diagnosed his problem. The vet and assistants treated him at the hospital and sent him home with us along with instructions and some meds. By the following morning he was doing much, much better. We found the staff at SVAH very friendly, knowledgable and caring. Their prices for services are reasonable and compare favorably with other vets we have used in the area. There are also several options for payment that allow you to have the needed treatment even if you are low on cash at the time. We highly recommend SVAH and are very pleased we discovered it.

I have never had a vet clinic so welcoming. My dog, a huge GSD is out of control with anxiety and lack of socialization but VCA understands and makes no judgement. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE. Great doctors, techs and office staff and my big brute of a dog gets excellent care while I don't get judged.

12.Country Lane Animal Hospital
9019 Carolina Blvd
On Aug. 21, 2015 I took my dog in for a complaint of coughing. After being evaluated by the Doctor McCracken, she stated his lungs sounded clear (no x-ray was taken or even an option to have an x-ray)and that he had gingivitis and needed his teeth cleaned. They scheduled the teeth cleaning for three weeks later and gave him antibiotics for the gingivitis. I took him in for his teeth cleaning appt. on Sep. 2nd and a different doctor (Dr. Pickens) looked at him and he stated he didn't feel the teeth was the issue for the coughing and that he wanted to do an x-ray and some lab work. The results of the test showed that my dog had bronchitis and he needed a steroid and antibiotic. I received my bill and I stated I was not going to pay a re-exam fee. I had no issue paying the x-ray, lab work, or medication but I felt the re-exam fee was unnecessary as he came in the first time for the same issue and it was left untreated. After arguing with the vet's office they took off the charge. I was upset with the vet but in no way cursed or screamed at them. On Nov 20th, I called to make an appt. gain as the cough had returned. I stated I would like to see Dr. Pickens as he was the one who found the issue with my dog. On Nov 23rd the vet's office called to "alert" me that monies are due at time of service and that I was un-happy with the service the last time. I stated I was happy with the service the last time but just didn't think the charge was appropriate but I would like to keep the appointment because we were going out of town. The next day (the day of the apt) they called to tell me that the doctor would not see my dog. I even offered to pay upfront because I needed the appt and they refused. They could have told me the day I made the appt. they weren't going to see me, instead of forcing me to find a new vet in one day. I work in Healthcare and felt this matter was handled very poor. I was a customer for 2 1/2 yrs. and had no other issues paying what I thought was a fair. I am extremely disappointed.
13.Top Dog Kennel
12 Cavalier Ln
I was a little dubious about Top Hat, even though it was recommended to me by a friend, as I drove up to the kennell. But as soon as I met the people that ran Top Hat, I felt much better, and when I Met the gentleman who owned Top Dog- I was sold. I have now had me dog there twice, the last time for a week, and I love it and will continue to take him there. Very Important - This is the very first time that I haven't had to force him to go into the front door of a kennel- he trots right in!-
1923 Charlotte Hwy
This place needs to be shut down, period. Had bad experiences both times my dogs went. The first time my pups returned covered in their own urine and the smell was extremely strong. The second time they roomed my two pups came home bloody and wounded because they had been in a fight in their kennel and the owners refused to intervene and let them fight until they quit. Again, they were disgusting and covered in blood and urine. They did not clean or treat my animals with any care. I can not put into words the anger and disgust I have towards this place. I'd like to lock them in one of their own cages for days and let them rot in their own urine. No excuse for these lazy unclean rude individuals.
