My 13 month old son has been going to KRK since he was 3 months old. The first few days dropping him off almost killed me but I am so glad I stuck it out! The staff here is AWESOME. They are so warm with the kiddos and know the ins and outs of each of them. I am lucky enough to be able to spend every lunch break visiting with my son at KRK. The lunch they provide the kids actually looks and smells good! I have never seen a teacher lose their composure with a child. They give hugs and kisses galore! There is some fun activity almost every day (and you get pictures!), and art projects every week! The rooms are kept clean and organized. The owners are awesome as well and know every child (and most parents!) by name. Most mornings, Mr. Bill greets everyone at the door while holding his cup of coffee. So the staff is what keeps us at KRK but the facility is what got us in the door initially. The cameras are awesome (especially since the upgrade recently!). As a worry-wart mom, the cameras provided me with a sense of accountability. I knew I couldn't watch 24/7 but knowing the teachers were aware that someone COULD be watching at anytime made me feel a whole lot better. The glass walls are nice too. At first I thought it may be a distraction but that hasn't been the case. In reality, it just increases the number of eyes that can see whats going on in the classroom. In order for something terrible to go unnoticed, all parents must not be watching the camera and all staff (including the teachers in the neighboring classrooms) would have to not see it, or turn a blind eye. Pretty low odds! The playgrounds are superior to any other daycare I toured and they even have a splash pad! The kids LOVE it.Being in the childcare industry has got to be tough. These people take care of hundreds of the most special little people and I, for one, think they do a bang up job. I am sure there will always be an unhappy parent or two (see previous poster) but keeping realistic expectations in mind, I can't see this place warranting anything less than full stars!
Childtime: the best kept secret in day-care (learning center). Childtime went through a phase of not having a permanent Director and things were different. After a few months a permanent Director was appointed and things seems to be turning around. However, we had already made the decision to leave and try another day-care (learning center). We were tempted by fancy technology, defined daily learning schedules and that they never had any openings (surprisingly a slot was opened & we had to act fast). After two weeks I quickly realized I made a hug mistake. The new daycare was all smoke and mirrors. Nothing was occurring as promised during the tour. Nevertheless, leaving Childtime helped me appreciate this day-care more. So what made me run back to Childtime. 1) The friendliness in the greeting as I enter and exit daily. (no fake greetings here)2) The Staff and Directors takes the time to listen to my concerns big or small. Even if my concerns were out of the norm (first time mom). 3) The teachers verbally telling me how my child's day went and not just handing me her daily sheet. 4) There ability to take care of my child's needs (sleeping, feeding, diaper changing) and also finding time to engage with her in developmental activities (physical, cognitive, social, emotional, etc.). 5) The class sizes are small. My child gets more attention and less accidents occur. 6) My daughter loves the staff (I watch my child's emotions because she is only 18 months old and she can't say "mommy I hate these people". The glow she had on her face when I went to visit two weeks after leaving was amazing. She wouldn't let the teachers go, I had to pull her away.) 7) Lastly, I am at ease when I leave my child because I know she is in great hands. Being able to go to work and not worry about my child is priceless. Every day-care has its plus and minus and they are still working thought some things but Childtime is right for my family.
