A Town Auto
I recently bought a classic Corvette and took it to A-Town Auto for an estimate to get the body repaired and a new custom paint job done. The owner took a lot of extra time to look over my car, explain the difference between painting a metal car and a fiberglass (Corvette) car. Zach Hietpas the owner, explained there would be extra time involved painting a Corvette, which was great because all the other shops told me it would be done right away. I researched Corvette painting online and discovered that doing the body work and painting one was not easy just like the owner explained. My research showed me even the most experienced body shops have difficulty painting Corvettes and some will not even paint them due to the degree of difficulty involved. The owner (Zach) went over each of the steps involved in painting a Corvette in detail. He always kept me updated on the progress of the job and even welcomed me to come and look at the car during each step.As the owner of A-Town Auto, Zach Hietpas impressed me with his honesty, concern, and also his prices. When my Corvette was finished I was so impressed I called a friend of mine who needed body work done and told him to take his car there which he did. I got a body and paint job that was second to none. Zach's work was better than any of the other local body shops that I have dealt with in the past and at a price that beat them all hands done. I saved $1500.00 and got a much better job. I took a chance on a new shop and I feel like I got the better of the deal. Great job A-Town Auto and its owner, Zach Hietpas for doing a great job. I am always getting compliments on my Corvette.

Dc Automotive
I was having what I thought was a lot of issues with my '99 Toyota Camry, but it turns out it was just a sensor. This issue was going on for at least a month and would happen intermittently. My car would stall when I came to a stop and the rpm's would rise and fall like I was revving the engine, whether I would be at a stop light, waiting for a train or backing out of my driveway! I was so frustrated and I couldn't figure it out. I took it to my normal mechanic and my uncle who works on cars when he has spare time and neither of them could find anything wrong with it. There weren't any code coming up and the "check engine light didn't even turn on. So I asked around and heard from my neighbor about DC Auto and they figured out that it was a sensor. I had great, friendly, professional service for a decent price and I will definitely be going back! Thanks again for the great service!! :)

Wrenches Automotive
Excellent experience..... Their honesty has gained me as a new customer from one of the local Bergstrom dealerships where I purchased my vehicles. Bad experience and dishonesty on a repair with big dealer resulted in a win win situation for me and Wrenches Automotive. Thank you ....Penny Vande Voort

Keen's Auto Repair
Great service. Friendly and super flexible. The only place I'll bring my car.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
