D & T Septic Services
We returned home from a vacation in this FROZEN TUNDRA of MN to find our septic line was frozen and backing water up in our basement. After calling RotoRooter (they advertised 24 hour service and it was a Sunday night) the grumpiest service guy came and charged us a lot of money to confirm that the line was indeed frozen and were unable to "steam" it as promised until the following day at best. My husband found D & T Septic on line on Monday and reached the friendliest gentlemen who agreed to service us later that day. Brenden May, the owner of the family owned and operated business was Prompt, Professional, Clean and Compassionate to our situation. He serviced us following a long day and rectified our problem at half the price the big company had quoted. We highly recommend him and plan to use him for pumping services when the weather is warmer!

D & T Septic Services
Last summer I noticed a large sink hole in my yard and called D&T Septic. Brandon came out on a Sunday morning and was very helpful, he identified the problem right away and was able to repair that same day. He was extremely fair and honest with the issue at hand as well as the price he charged for his service to repair on a weekend. He has also done Septic pumping at our home as well and we would hightly recommend this company to anyone in need of Septic Services.

D & T Septic Services
This was my first experience with septic pumping and, thankfully, it was a great first experience. Brenden is a personable, no-nonsense and professional guy. My son and I enjoyed watching the process and learned a few things along the way. I recommend D&T without hesitation.
Tips & Advices
Though your tank can handle many gallons of water, too much water at one time can overwork the system and cause solid waste to enter the drain field.
To prevent pipe damage, call 811 before you begin any project that would require you to dig. A professional can detect which areas you need to stay away from. Remember, there could be more than just your septic system beneath your land - wires and cables may also run through your property.
A number of factors can cause baffles, lines, and pipes to break or crack, including:
  • Digging in the wrong place
  • Sulfuric acid or rust deterioration
  • Tree-root infiltration
Using a special camera, a contractor should be able to locate the crack or leak and replace the part.
Clogs or backups are usually caused by improper or too-infrequent pumping. Your tank is completely full, and solid waste is being forced through the outlet tee baffle and clogging it. Some signs that you have a clog include:
  • Wastewater backing up in your drains in your home
  • Foul odors in your home
  • Water draining slowly
Preventing septic system failure also involves keeping the drain field clear. Never drive or park over the drain field, and don't allow livestock to walk over it. Heavy equipment should also be kept away from this area.
