Sammys Tree Service
Mr. Sammy Brown was recommended to me by a local electrician outfit in Anderson South Carolina. He came to my house in February of 2015. He gave me a written estimate of what he would charge me to have one limb removed that was hanging from a tree. He requested his payment in full and he was paid in full and I was given a receipt and told the ground was too wet to get the truck up in my backyard. In August of 2015 I called his business number four different times. Left four different messages and eventually had to have someone else paid to cut down the one limb that he was PAID to do because he would not return my calls. In April of 2016 14 months later after this man ripped me off I see him in a local grocery store and he knew exactly who I was but he told me he forgot to come back and finish the job why had I not called him. I was professional but to the point. After telling him that I paid good money just like all his other customers did he called me an a******. HE IS A CROOK.

Sammy's a crook!! I got taken by him.. Do not pay him any $$ upfront, because you'll lose it.. He'll quote a cheap price, and then want more $, or he'll leave the job without finishing. He hardly answers his phone, and his insurance is suspect. There's a reason he doesn't have his address on his business card, and he only uses a cell phone! Any good reviews that he gets have to either come from one of his employees or his friends/family members. I would give him zero stars, but I was forced to give one. If you have a need for tree work, use anyone but Sammy's Tree Service! Don't do it!!!

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! We've had trees trimmed before, but Sammys destroyed a beautiful tree! Though they did just an ok job on our Volkswagon size bushes, and took a dead limb off one tree, they ruined a beautiful tree that use to provide shade to a whole area of our yard. I asked them to TRIM the one limb hanging over the driveway and clean up the dead limbs. They also agreed to pull off the dead ivy on the tree. Instead, they cut every limb that faced the driveway! They even left two 4-8 stump limbs without greenery on them! There are plenty of dead limbs still on our tree. I had to leave to care for my Alzheimers father prior to them finishing, so I paid them the $300 as I left. My bad. Shouldn't have trusted them. I learned my lesson as we now have to pay someone to clean up what he left. PLEASE don't use them! I gave 1 star because you can't say ZERO.

Tips & Advices
Trees take years to grow and can add value to a property, and a lightning strike can destroy a tree in a instant. Many arborists offer lightning protection systems that can protect trees from being damaged by lightning strikes. These systems use copper cables to ensure that in a lightning strike, the lightning is harmlessly diverted to the soil.
Certain conditions can cause soil to become hard and compacted, and this can make it difficult for grass and trees to access the nutrition they need to thrive. With soil aeration, the soil is perforated with tiny holes, loosening the compaction and making it easier for roots to connect with the air, water, and vital nutrients they require.
Arborists can tell which species of trees are most likely to thrive in your location based on soil conditions and local climate. Also, trees need to be planted at the proper depth to thrive, and an arborist will provide guidance in this area.
Tree trimming can be quite dangerous for the person doing it, and the U.S Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries lists it as one of the most hazardous professions in the nation. Falling branches can cause injury, and electrocution can occur if tree pruning takes place in close proximity to power lines. For these reasons, tree pruning is best handled by a skilled professional.
Tree pruning can have a huge aesthetic impact, and, if artfully done, it can greatly improve a tree's appearance. Tree pruning can also boost the health of your landscape. By thinning a tree's canopy with pruning, the tree and the landscape beneath it will be able to access more air and sunlight, resulting in improved vitality.
