Simply awful. The food was slightly burnt and wrong, as in my sesame chicken was spicy, and my husband's curry chicken was flavorless and not spicy at all. The waitress kept forgetting that we were there and, multiple times, only remembered we were there when she wandered out of the kitchen with her own food or snacks to eat, in full view of us and the resturant entrance. We nearly left several times, and no one would have even noticed that we weren't there anymore. If you want to be treated to wrong, burnt food and inconsiderate staff, this is the place for you.
Asia Gardens is a place for me, I enjoy eating in but also that their food is so good and gets done fast so we can pick it up and it'll be warm when we get home to eat. Friendly people and great food.
Asia Garden has been around for quite some time, and the inside kind of looks like it, but the food is really tasty and you can never go wrong with one of their flaming Mai Tai's!!! The atmosphere isn't really the greatest though... Go for food and drink, but don't try and treat it like a night club.
Samoans not Welcome! Remember ""Don't be in this town after sundown, Ni**er!"" signs? Really, they used to be outside lots of Southern towns. Now we have the modern equivalent here in Alaska. If you are Polynesian, or perhaps Hawaiian, Guamanian, Easter Islander, you know, they ""...all look alike"" (Ms Fei, Asia Garden) then let it be known that your not welcome in the Asia Garden
Last night, myself, my wife, and 2 friends went to this place for a while. While we were in there, there was a guy at the bar slumped over, drunk. They were completely unconcerned. We checked further, he was dripping with sweat, in Diabetic shock. We tried to call an ambulance, even offered to pay. They assured us it would happen. Next thing we know, we see 2 bouncers, (I have ones name) watch this guy get into his jeep, jump 2 medians onto old seward hwy, door open on the jeep and head half hanging out. we ran out and confronted them as to why they let hm go, they said ""well we tried to stop him but he wouldnt listen"" theyre BOUNCERS AND LEGALLY LIABLE. We left and tried to locate him while we had the cops on the line. Well, the Anchorage PD is just a tad smarter than the Asians at the restaurant, and by the time they got around to do a locate, this guy was long gone. We only hope he didnt hurt someone. ruined the rest of the night.
I hate to sound that way, but had the guy at the bar been an asian, they would have called him at least a cab. We offered to pay for a cab. But because he was black (or any non asian) they were like ""Oh no he be fine"".
Boycott this and all restaurants like it, and Monday morning, flood Alcohol and beverage control with calls over this place. I want to see this place shut down.
I have been going to this restaurant as a little kid, and love that they haven't changed it. The atmosphere is one of a kind. The food has a great flavor that can't be beat. The dishes served are made from fresh tasting ingredients. The Asia Garden Special is my absolute favorite!!!
The inside is rather dated. The table was worn and appeared dirty. When asked to clean they said it is just old tables and could not be cleaned better. Food was not hot.
Nice and friendly lounge crowd during the day and early evening. Owner, Fay, makes a point of getting to know all her customers, and remembering them. Good place to meet with business people, friends, or a date.
