Fortson Dermatology & Skin Care Center
Dr. Fortson and her office were wonderful. They are all caring people, and despite running a busy office, always manage to let you know that you are their main concern. Dr. Fortson is passionate about what she does and is a wonderful dermatologist. I have been to many others over the years, and have found Dr. Fortson to be superior in knowledge, bedside manner, and in staffing. She not only is an excellent dermatologist, but genuine in her caring about people and their skin issues. I have a chronic skin condition, and no one has stuck by me through all of my issues the way Dr. Fortson has. They have answered numerous phone calls and never made me feel that I was a problem, although I know I took up a lot of their time. Dr. Fortson's unselfishly gave so much of her time and energy in helping me with a difficult problem. She and her staff always made sure I understood the instructions, and even called me at home to check up on me. I applaud her!

Fortson, Jayne, MD
Dr Fortson has been my dermatologist for several years. I find her to be extremely knowledgable and skillful. Her accomplishments are stellar. I trust her expertise more than any other dermatologist I have ever seen and I highly recommend her for skin problems or cosmetic work. When I first started seeing her, she wasn't very good at communicating at a patient level. She was definitely more task-oriented than people- oriented. Now, however, she is excellent at listening and discussing. Her staff is one of the friendliest and most helpful staffs I have ever experienced.

Tips & Advices
Cosmetic dermatology is a specialization of the field, which focuses on a person's appearance.
See a dermatologist if you have recurring problems with your skin, hair, nails or mucous membranes, or for any concerns about cosmetic appearance. Medicare patients will likely pay 20 percent of the Medicare-approved amount if the health care provider covers dermatology for a medical skin condition.
Dermatology tends to be covered by insurance if it is deemed a "medical necessity." The amount of coverage and cost depends on the specific health plan.
There is such a thing as a pediatric dermatologist--medical professionals who treat children from birth through adolescence - usually for skin conditions most common in younger patients. Regular dermatologists can also work with children of various ages.
Dermatologists can perform biopsies, dermabrasion, hair removal, laser surgery, cosmetic injections (like Botox), Mohs surgery for skin cancer, skin grafts, vein therapy, and chemical peels, to name a few.
