Gas & Time Alaskan Outfitters
Having been a licensed fishing guide and Captain for over 8 years in Prince William Sound, when I was approached by Joe Romano to accompany him on a guided hunt was the greatest compliment one guide could bestow on another. I was not only taken aback, I was completely impressed at the operation that Joe ran, everything from pick up of the clients, housing them on the main ship, to the menu they enjoyed, to drop off of the clients at the termination of the hunt was handled in nothing other than the highest professionalism. If you are looking for a top notch experience, whether it be safety, success, or genuine concern for client satisfaction look no further. Gas and Time Outfitters has achieved and maintained their reputation by being the best in the business due to the dedication and concern Joe places on every trip. I would like to personally thank Joe for introducing me to his business and trusting me with insider information that has taken him 14 years to gather which makes him the best there is in the business. Keep up the excellent work, the excellent service to customer satisfaction, and you will continue to be the premier outfitter in Prince William Sound. With the highest respect and gratitude, Thank You for allowing me to witness and experience your operation first hand. Respectfully, Capt. Jeffrey Ford.

Moose's Tooth Pub & Pizzeria
Being busy , making money , comes with unique challenges. It's problem most businesses Would love to have. Mooses has become too busy for us to enjoy eating there. Ordered food to go.Sat on the corner bar stool waiting for our to go order. Yes, I was standing next to my sitting wife , on the end near their walkway.Walking And working space is limited there. A server waking buy spilled a bowl of marinara sauce. I didn't bump him and he didn't bump into me. Don't know how it happened. I got "hit" with marinara shrapnel"No big deal. Don't care Off work. Clothes don't need to be clean for a week. I joked with the bartender that I " got hit"He said " you were in the way"Are you fucking kidding me?Piss poor way to talk to a big tipper. Or ANY customer in my opinion. I left feeling unappreciated As in "We have enough business to be rude to people" Was an attitude taking hold But the experience left a sour note.3 star pizza, The crusts are more soggy and greasy , than crisp and light . Way undercooked in my opinion. I think they're rushing the cooking to keep up with the demand. They've been coasting on reputation. -----your customers are " in the way "Pissed me the f--k off!

Capri Pizza
Their food is full of flavor and quality ingredients. There was a woman making pizza dough from scratch in the front area behind the counter. I watched her use her whole body. It was wonderful to see someone care about the work that goes into making a great product. It looks like it may be a husband and wife team running Capri. It was heartwarming and their food is filling and flavorful without the grease. Best part of it...it was very affordable. The owner suggested I try the chicken samosas (sp?) these little pockets were made of traditional Indian spices that slapped my toungue with flavor. In Alaska, its next to impossible to find any Indian food that is affordable. I am so glad my friend suggested this place.

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
I know this Olive Garden is fairly new. They just opened a few months after we moved to Anchorage. Wife and I had a good time. They can be slow sometimes and their food cost at least $4 more per person than we are used to. Its expensive for what you get. We have been here about 3 times now and each time it get better. They need to have consistent service, sometimes its 'decent' and other times it sucks. I'm giving them 4 stars because I have seen an improvement since the first time we went.

Pizza Olympia
My family was visiting for Milano, so I decided to take them to Pizza Olympia. We all loved it! Nona was more than pleased which is a great surprise in it's self. The Athenas Delight was perfect and unique, Geyros was made with their own homemade pita bread (very orginal) and Seafood fettanchine and Zoi's special were amazing. This is a fun place to bring your family and friends. The place also seams to be run Italians maybe Greeks. Thank you Athena for the Baklava!

Crouts Contracting Services
I am so happy to have found crouts contracting services. I've had work done before on my home but have never been completely satisfied. Anthony was courteous, clean and didn't overcharge. He even did some extra things that he didn't charge me for. He also left the rooms he worked on spotless! I will definitely be calling for future work.

Skeleton Key
SUCH a great store! Love this place - I never leave empty handed. Can be pricey but it's worth it, I'd rather pay extra for the quality and they're really good about stocking ethically and American made stuff. The concert tees are awesome but it's great for fun little gifts that you wouldn't see anywhere else too.

This little hole in the wall shop, is the only place I will go for dresses. They are beautiful and quality. Three times in a row, I've walked in, told the lady what I'm looking for, she hands me a dress, and it's absolutely perfect. 1 time is a fluke. 3 times is skill. It's the first and last place I go.

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
There isn't an Olive Garden where I live so I eat here every time I'm in Anchorage, about twice a year. I have never had a bad experience. The service has always been fantastic and the food is always superb. I like the shrimp alfredo and almost always order that.
Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.

Just a moment...
