El Paisa Auto Repair
I dropped my my vehicle off Monday with a bad fuel pump. Thursday they finally told me it would be done on Friday. Was not. On Friday I called they said 11am Saturday. At 1145pm Saturday i called, not done, they said only 1 hour. I came in at 215pm and nobody was near my vehicle and it was still up on the lift, again they said an hour. It is 315p and my vehicle still isn't done. This place is horrible.

Aluminodi Customs
Don't let Aluminodi Customs happen to you!!! Steve has turned into a disreputable, dishonest, fly-by-night shop whereby you'll be bringing your car back more than once to get the job done right, all the while paying for the inconvenience with money and time. Steve takes no responsibility for the mistakes that happen in his shop or by the slipshod mechanics he has working for him, especially one in particular who I requested not touch my vehicle until finally, I had to bring my business elsewhere. Unfortunately, many other people I know, ran into the same difficulty, fly-by-night service with no guarentee or recourse for your money when the job is done incorrectly. Instead, Steve will tell you, he's the victim, and 'I can't keep working for free' when in realty, he's taking terrible advantage of customers, who unknowingly let not even certified mechanics work on my car. So much so, that after having an engine replaced by him, I drove the vehicle home with my daughters strapped in their car seats and the next thing I know, the engine burst into flames and I frantically had to get my children out of the car while his mistake turned into a three alarm fire!! True story, just ask him and don't let him tell you any b.s. about how it wasn't his fault. Because of him, my car ended up being totalled and I had to get a rental car just to drive until I could find something else. For all his bullshit and aggravation, and the thousands of dollars he's taken from our family alone, he'll still tell a convincing story of how he is somehow wronged and innocent of these accusations. Run don't walk !!

El Maestro Auto Repair
I wish I could give it 0 stars. Sold me a battery for 140 that was supposedly new come to find out it wasn't. I was told by the mechanic that my engine was blown and was recommended to junk my car so i take it to get a second opinion and it was only the alternator. I've lost all trust with this man this is not the first time this has happened either. Worst shop in allentown guy has no clue what he's doing . BEWARE

El Maestro Auto Repair
Excellent service and prices. First honest mechanic I have found in a long time. I was quoted $900 to fix an issue to pass inspection. El Maestro's price was just over $100. Couldn't be happier!

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
