Had these guys replace my brake pads, did not resurface the rotors. Then I had them rotate my tires on my dually (polished aluminum on the outside metal on the inside) and they put the black rims in front. When I basically asked them why they'd do something so stupid they cared like it was my fault. They fixed it by putting the dull sides of the aluminum wheels showing and they gashed my rims when they dismounted the tires. Very careless and unprofessional and they even charged me extra for their mistake. Total came out to almost $400 and now I'm going to another place to have them basically put the rims that were in the front back in the front.

Larry And Jerry's Auto Service
Larry installed new clutches on my Komatsu dozer, one of the best diesel mechanics in South Texas, right off of highway 281N, friendly and professional service! I will bring my dozer every year to have it serviced here and will gladly rate him high as for the great work he has provided for me. Thank you, Larry!!

I really appreciate the business that Daniel does to my truck. I have an older truck but he takes the time to explain to me in detail what is wrong with my truck and in a way that I can understand. I love the friendly service that is provided by his wife as soon as I walk into the place. Always asking how my family is and how are the kids. It really is a family business. They remember everything about me and my truck. I live way out of town and when I go home I make sure that Daniel/Malfunction Junction does all my truck repairs and tune ups. It truely is the best mechanic shop in South Texas. They are reasonably priced as well. I recommend all my family and friends to go by.

Great work, friendly service! My experiences here have always been superb. Dealing with your car issues can be such a pain, but an added hassle of dealing with a mechanic who may try to shortchange you is never an issue at Malfunction Junction. I've always trusted my car in the care of Daniel. I like his laid back, tell it like it is attitude that lets you know there are no gimmicks at this shop! Most importantly, he gets the job done right the first time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an auto repair shop in the Alice area.

This place is great! I've been a customer for years and Danny is the only mechanic I trust my vehicles with. They always explain exactly what needs to be done and there are never any surprise charges when I'm paying. And Cindy in the office is always so friendly! I highly recommend this place!

Love, love, love this place! I traveled to south texas on vacation and had car issues while there. I asked around and several people recommended this place. Mechanic was very nice and took the time to explain to me and show me what was wrong with my car. He told me how long it would take to fix and how much it would cost. I was definitely not disappointed. As a woman, you're always afraid of being taken advantage of at auto repair shops. That was not the case at this place. I would recommend this place to everyone. If you live in Corpus Christi it is most definitely worth the drive to Alice. Thank you Danny and Cindy!

I take my vehicles here all the time. I like it because they do a thorough job and do not take long in doing it. I go during my lunch time to get oil changes and I am in and out of there in no time at all. They take the time to explain what was done to your vehicle and if something is needed they will not do it on their own, they will come and tell you and if you approve then they will proceed with the work. They have a friendly atmosphere and make you feel welcomed. I would recommend to all my friends to take their vehicles here.
Tips & Advices
In some cases, it's worth repairing an old alternator. If some parts go bad, they can be inexpensive to repair. For example, alternator belts can be quite cheap, and parts and labor for handling this repair will run you between $100 and $125 for most vehicles, which is significantly less than the cost of a new alternator. If the total cost of the repair exceeds 50 percent of the cost of replacing the alternator, it makes sense to invest in a new alternator.
If your car's alternator has gone bad, you may be able to squeeze in a short journey, but the car's battery will drain very quickly without the alternator's support. Stop-and-go traffic will place even more pressure on the battery, and so will using auxiliary items such as the radio, air conditioning, heater, windshield wipers, and headlights.
A one-wire alternator is a type of alternator that can be easily put into place with the installation of a single wire. The key benefit that these alternators bring is that they are simple to install.  However, many one-wire alternators provide low output when the car's engine is idle, and this can burden the car's electrical system if you're idling at a red light with the headlights and stereo on. Some one-wire alternators also require you to rev the car's engine to a certain rpm to activate the alternator and begin the charging process.
The most common cause of alternator failure is a weak battery. Your car's alternator works very hard to keep your car's battery fully charged, and, if the battery is weak, it can put a great deal of stress on the alternator. The alternator will increase its output to try and keep the battery charged, and this will eventually overtax the alternator and cause it to fail prematurely.
Your alternator's regulator is an automotive part that monitors and oversees the process by which your car's battery is charged. The regulator also supports the alternator by reducing the stress that is placed on the alternator's drive belts, tensioning pulley, and bearings. The regulator may be located inside or outside of the alternator's housing.
