Seriously - who writes reviews about doctors? This guy....starting now. Why? Because I hate doctors - I don't go to doctors, I would rather fumble around sick, limping on a bad knee while squinting at a piece of paper, rather than deal with modern medicine to treat these ails. I visited these folks once before to get them to fix my glasses - no I didn't buy them there, I was just driving by when a screw popped out. They didn't ask, they didn't hassle - they just fixed them for me kindly. Seemed a little weird to get treated so nicely in a doctor's office. But, these folks are a little different. Monday, I called to get an appointment, hoping to get new glasses sometime before Balloon Fiesta, and GOT IN THE NEXT DAY - What? Who does that? They pulled my insurance stuff with ease. They saw me 5 minutes late (Sigh), but they apologized profusely over and over again because someone had called out that day. So bizarre - never met a doctor that ran that close to on time. And, never met a doctor that apologizes for much of anything. I suppose I could write more,'s a doctor's office. Go see them before you can't see anything.

This place is awesome! I went to the one located on corrales rd. and Alameda. Everyone here was incredibly pleasant to do business with. Seriously the BEST eyeglasses experience I've had in my lifetime of glasses. Dr. Adams and her assistant were super professional but extremely approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. Very efficient and on time for my appointment. Highly recommend Dr. Adams for your eye exams! The staff in the frames half were extremely pleasant as well. Renee helped me choose frames (which is no easy task being that I am incredibly indecisive) she was patient, knowledgeable, very friendly and just a super over all nice and professional person. Her manager Jon, was very friendly and extrmely helpful. I honestly wont ever go anywhere else for my eye needs ever again! I highly HIGHLY recommend Stanton Optical! Thanks for the awesome service you guys! I'll spread the word for sure.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sokola for 3 years and she has always been very informative, professional and the sweetest Optometrist I have ever gone to. The atmosphere of the office is so relaxing with all the plants, one of the best things of visiting Ultra-Vision is Mellow the cat. He is so sweet and welcomes the patients personally. I love this place so much when I found out they were interviewing for a receptionist I applied for the job and now I work for Dr. Sokola and Diane. It is the best job I have ever had. I love Ultra-VisionKathleen

We consistently go there.... several years now. We find them very helpful and very reasonably priced. Love that the glasses can be done in the same day and they text to let you know they are done. I would highly recommend them.

Always very much liked the service, products and attitude of everyone there. Especially liked the new retina scanner, very pleased that there is a record now of my retina, especially since I'm getting older.

The staff was friendly and professional. One of the staff members took extra time to check out an insurance option that I wasn't aware I even had! Thank you.

Tips & Advices
A regular eye exam focuses on the general health of your eyes, while a contact lens exam is focused specifically on how your eyes react to contact lenses. A contact lens exam tests how well you see while wearing contacts. Your eyes are also evaluated to make sure your tear ducts produce enough tears to allow you to comfortably wear contact lenses.
The cost of contact lenses depends on the type of lens being purchased and the vision problem that is being corrected. For nearsightedness, you'll be able to purchase a box of six lenses for roughly $25. Each lens needs to be replaced after a couple of weeks, which will require you to purchase 10 boxes of lenses each year, for a total of $250 per year. Contact lenses that treat other conditions like astigmatism and presbyopia are more expensive, and can cost $500-$700 a year.
Some people may experience certain side effects when wearing contact lenses. Dry eyes may result, and some people may experience eye or eyelid inflammation. Some contact lens wearers may also develop allergic reactions to the liquid contact lens solution that is used to clean and disinfect the lens.
The cost of an eye exam can range $50-$250 or more. The cost will depend on the tests that are included, and whether the exam involves a contact lens fitting. The cost of the test will also hinge on whether the exam is performed by an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
An eye exam typically takes 20-30 minutes. If additional tests are required, the process could take longer. Eye exams test your sight, but they are also used to make sure your eyes are in good health. During the test, your eye care professional will ask if you've been experiencing any problems with your vision. Your eyes will be examined using a device known as an ophthalmoscope, and the movement of coordination of your eyes will be checked.
