After hearing really great things about The Garage Auto Repair from several relatives and friends, I decided to give them a try. There are plenty of good things to say about this shop. My first experience with themwas a very good one . First of all, each and every employee that I dealt with was exceptionally pleasant. I initially called from the side of I-25 after my Jeep overheated. The lady who answered the phone explained the program to me and dispatched their tow truck to where I was stranded. The tow truck driver was polite and gave me a ride to the shop. My Jeep was looked at almost instantly by a mechanic. After roughly 20 minutes in their waiting room I was given an estimate. Turns out that my thermostat got stuck. While I waited, they replaced it and added new coolant. I saw my Jeep go on a 10-15 minute road test to verify that there wasn't any other issues. My entire experience with The Garage was textbook perfect. The staff was overly nice, the price was very reasonable, and the service was impressive. One other thing worth metioning is that there was no charge for the tow. I have never been so satisfied in my life. I would go a very long way to get this customer service and craftsmanship again.

Medicine Chest
There is something to be said about what the previous reviewer considers a museum for merchandise. The antiques on display in the store convey more meaning than she is apparently capable of understanding. They reveal the owner's philosophy on life and treatment of customers. Ken has been my families pharmacist for over 50 years. From helping with a biology project when I was in high school to the recent loss of my father, Ken has been there with sound advice for my family's health that worked! On a visit home with my infant daughter the formula the doctor recommended wasn't working well. A trip to Ken's was in order. He suggested I try something rather old fashioned instead of purchasing soy formula the pediatrician wanted me to buy. Pet milk. It worked remarkably well and was much more economical than the soy formula the doctor suggest I try. The baby is now in her thirties and thriving. If you want shiny new The Medicine Chest is probably not your pharmacy. I personally love the antiques and prefer caring pharmacists and employees who have become trusted advisors for my family's health to employees of a large corporation who don't care about me or my problems.

Gilson's Auto Body Shop
by anonymousApr 21, 2015This is a very reputable company and have been in business for 15 years. Mike the owner is well known for his quality of service and has a great customer relationship. His customers are loyal and proud to say their vehicles were repaired at Gilsons Auto Body Shop. There are a few shops in town that have this kind of reputation and they will most definitely keep doing what they do best ...to take care of their customers first and if a problem happens to arise the owner and his staff will make sure it's addressed in a responsible and positive manner.by anonymousApr 21, 2015This is a very reputable company and have been in business for 15 years. The Garage is "The "Bomb"!!! Last week my son and I were traveling across country from Nashville to L.A. My starter went out in Albuquerque around 11:00 a.m. I called Tim and he said he could get me in fairly quickly so we managed to get the car started and took it straight to the garage. This all happened on the Friday afternoon before Memorial Day weekend so I'm quite sure Tim was short handed and everyone that was working there was daydreaming of the 3 day weekend coming up! Not a problem!! They got me in, diagnosed repaired and on my way to Grand Canyon National park by 1:45 p.m. I can guarantee you that if I lived in Albuquerque or anywhere near it they would be my exclusive mechanic. I have 7 cats so I know something about mechanics and these guys are good and honest. Thanks Tim and the girls at the desk for taking such good care of us in what could have otherwise been a very bad situation.

Jim's Automotive
I accidentally smashed my undercarriage on a curb and really messed up my drive shaft. I had many errands to run that day and didn't know what to do. Before panic started to settle in I asked my GPS where there was a car shop nearby and was fatefully directed to Jim’s Automotive. I was eternally grateful where I ended up because I was promptly on my way. I was afraid that I had ruined my car and needed a new drive shaft and who knows what else. Jim and his team were able to quickly take off, grind, hammer, heat and repair my car as I relaxed and gathered myself in the guest waiting area. Even the repairs were cheaper than I had presumed. They treated me like a family member in need. I will not ever forget it. Check them out at Jimsautomotive dot com.

Roc La Lu Auto Repair Shop
I went through the trouble of signing up for yelp solely to write these guys. And by rate I mean praise! We were referred to these guys on a Sunday when they weren't even open, I had text the owner, Lawrence and he said go ahead and have the car towed there. They made everything so convenient. We met Adam at the shop, and he was so professional and reassuring. True to the first impression, next day, car was done. Reasonable price, and a mountain of worries off our shoulders. I believe they deserve 6 stars on a 5 star system. All the way around, couldn't be happier. I have no idea what "Roc La Lu" means, but I'm pretty sure Spectacular is somewhere in the translation. You guys are AMAZING, thank you!!! Laura

Highland Pharmacy
Nestled in the heart of what the locals affectionately call, "Pill Hill", because of all of the medical offices clustered within a two to three block radius, this wonderful, "Old Timey",Pharmacy feels the way local businesses used to feel before everything became so automated. It has some eclectic stock and so it's possible to find some unusual and hard to locate items. However, the best part is the way this busy, technically up to the minute, pharmacy's staff take time to politely, and patiently help customers with questions, and special or difficult orders. That kind of customer service is worth gold in this all too depersonalized, and computerized world!

American Diesel Service LLC
First off I am a general contractor. I own a 2004 Dodge Cummins 3500 dually as well as a 2004 ford power stroke 6.uh oh! Bought the ford 6.0 used with 145k on it. Shortly thereafter overheating problems. As most of you 6.0 owners already know its a poor design. Matt did the head gaskets, studs, oil/egr cooler as well as planing the heads. It wasnt cheap but it was done right. Pushing 180k and I'm sure it'll make the 300k mark. Than i took the ford in because the 4x4 wasn't working. I had failed to lock the aftermarket warn hubs in all the way. No charge! Anyone else could have sold me a new transfer case! These guys are good. Moral if the story. Buy a Dodge.

Flash Automotive, Inc.
A couple weeks ago on July 11th, 2013 at 5pm I called into Flash Automotive to see what could be done about my charging system having problems in my 1994 Buick LeSabre. They told me to come on in even though it was just about closing time and I was about 15 minute away. Well I brought her in anyway and they checked my charging system diagnostics and let me know the battery was bad. You could have told me to come back the next day or just blown me off but you still wanted to make sure I was fit to be on the road. You installed a new battery in record time and it was a great relief to have my car back. Thanks again for great service!
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
