Graceful Grooming
Dear Carol M which is not your real name coward, I am very familiar with Graceful Grooming. I am appalled that anyone would attempt to discredit Grace's character!! Grace has been in business for almost 3 years and has over 300 customers with an A rating on all other sites including the best known rating agencies! When only one person attempts to damage that reputation, it actually points the finger at that person rather than at Grace or her business. Your review is an obvious attempt at just being vindictive, there is no attempt at constructive criticism and there is a good reason why!! Payment for a groom is due the day of the groom! 3 late payments with the final groom being paid 5 weeks after the groom is unacceptable for any business! It was overly kind of Grace to give you three chances to correct your irresponsible behavior! If Grace was not a wonderful person and groomer, then why would you have repeatedly scheduled appts. with her? Because she made you schedule with her? That was a ridiculous statement! Do you really think that people believe that you paid for a groom in advance? Who would do that? That doesn't even make sense, especially for someone who couldn't pay the day of the groom in the past. You should be ashamed of yourself for blaming Grace and attacking her character because of your irresponsibilty to pay your bills! Grace has too much character and class to respond to someone like you, but I am compelled to do so for her, because right is right and wrong is wrong Lady!!! Your next groomer will refuse service to you as well, unless you learn to be responsible!! But then, other groomers probably won't allow you to be as inconsiderate to them for as long as Grace did!!

Dirty Dog Grooming
I am very happy to share my experience at The Dirty Dog pet groomer. When I called to schedule an appointment I was greeted by a kind lady who clearly loves what she does. I brought my Coco and Chloe to Dirty Dog expecting what is normal at a pet groomers. I got MORE than that. For one, a fair price and 2 very happy and beautifully groomed pets. I paid my bill, collected my pets and left. I received a phone call from the groomer to let me know she was concerned about Coco and her "cherry eye." She'd reviewed some information on the internet and shared her findings. She went above and beyond just grooming my kids/pets. I will continue to bring her my business and will recommend her to all my family and friends. She got an A+ from me and Coco and Chloe!

Paula Fay CMG "The Canine Stylist"
Five Stars are not enough! Paula was recommended by a contact at Sandia Dog Obedience Club. I have my golden doodle groomed with Paula every two weeks. He needs to look his best and be clean for his therapy dog visits at Rust Medical Center and the Albuquerque Sun Port as a city ambassador. I get compliments on his appearance every where we go. If you want the best groomer, whether for confirmation or obedience shows, I will highly recommend Paula Fay. Jackson loves Paula and is treated with kindness on every visit.

Doggie Doos
My minpin's toenails got a little too long and one of the nails split in half and was bleeding a little bit. I called them up, they were able to take us in as a walk-in, they took care of her, clipped her nails, put a little medicine to stop the bleeding and it was all over with in less than 10 minutes and they only charged $5!! They were great! We plan to keep going back and take our other dogs too. Thanks Doggie Doos

Furtastic Grooming
I like going to Furtastic because I only have to leave my dogs for the time it takes to groom them, usually one hour. The shop is quiet and because I can get them out in an hour, they do not get stressed. Jose, my groomer, used to work at Tullivers and after it closed changed to Furtastic. he does a great job on my long-haired Chihuahua. He also grooms my Lab and another Chihuahua. Very Happy!

Little Lobos Pet Grooming
My Shih Tzu Harley has been coming to little lobos to Tina since his first ever hair cut. Tina does wonders with her professional experience in grooming pets. Every time we go to pick him up after his hair cut he comes out looking like a show dog. She treats animal like you would hope outstanding and is very talented in what she does. Don't look any further you won't be disappointed.

Westside Pets Grooming
You have to hold your breathe in this store. The smell is horrible. They have short hours closing at 6:30 and not open on Sunday. How they stay in business I do not know. I have heard from friends that the groom shops is busy so maybe that how they do it. I bought fish food and the employee was very friendly but she must hate going home smelling like that place.

Westside Pets Grooming
I bought an African grey there... My bird was hand-raised and hand-fed. He's 5 now & we love him so much!! I think it's unfortunate that people write 2 or more reviews to bring down the rating. Give your opinion, be helpful & let others decide. I've always had good experiences there.

Pampered & Polished Groom Salon
I've met a really great groomer, and her work on my dog was just awesome. It's nice to find someone who's friendly and nice, goes out of her to make my dog and I, feel at home. Not only will I go back, but I will refer all my friends! Thank you for your work, I'm very pleased!!!
Tips & Advices
Some pet groomers have viewing areas where owners can sit and watch their pets being treated. Most prevent owners from being in the same room as the pet, however, as the owner's presence might cause the pet to become too excited.
Pets that cannot interact with strangers do not make good professional grooming candidates. Sometimes medication can help, but some groomers don't take animals that have been sedated. If a pet becomes too unruly, a groomer may end the session entirely.
It's best to fully vaccinate pets before bringing them to their first grooming appointment. Dogs should receive the DA2PPC vaccine, which stands for canine distemper, canine andenovirus type 2, canine parvovirus, and parainfluenza. It's also a good idea to vaccinate dogs against Bordedatella (aka “kennel cough”). In fact, New York City requires dogs receive both DAPP and Bordetella shots. Cats, meanwhile, should get the FVRCP vaccine: feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus infection, and panleukopenia. In addition, all pets should be up to date on their rabies shots. Owners should wait at least 24 hours after getting their pet vaccinated before bringing it to the groomers.
Technically, there is no such thing as a pet that is too old for a professional groomer. In fact, older pets with joint or mobility issues often can't groom themselves and need someone else to clean them. However, pets that are blind, deaf, or have serious medical issues might not do well at a groomer, especially if the person is inexperienced. Owners should feel free to ask potential groomers about their understanding of elderly pet issues. Often, older pets will exhibit puppy-like behavior and squirm or yelp during grooming. Alternatively, they might not be able to stand for long periods of time. As such, grooming an older pet usually takes more time than grooming a young one.
Puppies and kittens should be at least 10 weeks old before their first professional grooming session. They should be used to being gently handled by strangers and comfortable being separated from their owners for a few hours at a time.
