Paraffin Wax for Hands and Feet (Respondent from Top Care Nails) We (Top Care Nails) are offering paraffin wax baths which included in our pedicure and manicure services. Why we offer this treatment? Here is the reason. Clients’ hands or feet are typically dipped into a tub of warm paraffin wax. The heat will retain for several minutes. As the wax hardens, the paraffin's natural emollient softens skin and the heat opens pores. When the cooled wax is pulled away from the skin, it also removes dead skin cells, leaving skin smoother.Paraffin wax treatments are also beneficial to dry, cracked hands and feet. Paraffin is an excellent moisturizer because it forms a light waterproof coating over your skin that helps it retain the oils produced by your body. This "waterproofing" makes paraffin treatments great for soothing and healing dry, cracked skin -- particularly winter-worn hands and feet -- because it offers protection from external elements. There are more benefits from the paraffin treatment which we do not tell here yet. Why Not to Worry When Receiving This Kind of Treatment ?There are a few factors that prevent paraffin from ¬being a good conduit for transferring bacteria and other pathogens. One is that because paraffin is an oil-based wax and does not contain water, it doesn’t provide an acceptable breeding ground for bacteria, fungi, and viruses to grow. Another is that during the act of dipping a hand into paraffin, the wax completely encapsulates whatever comes in contact with it, thus preventing it from touching any of the liquid wax around it. This can be seen when the hand or foot is removed from the wax. The wax covering prevents the skin from coming into contact with the rest of the wax in the bath. Moreover, we have been following these “must to do things” strictly since we started the business:1/ Have two separate baths for dipping: one for hand and one for feet.2/ Always keep the baths clean3/ although some manufacturers recommend cleaning the unit every month, while others say to do so after every 25 uses. We usually clean the unit every week (in the winter) or as often as needed (in the summer).4/Always clean hands and feet thoroughly with soap and water5/ For clients who need an individual use of paraffin treatment, we do use the “ladle” technique; which is a direct result of the general public’s heightened awareness of salon sanitation. Here is the picture of how we use the “ladle” technique:a/ Paraffin is scooped into a plastic liner for individual use. b/ Put clients’ hands or feet in the bag. While the clients’ hands are in the bag spread the wax around their hands or feet to ensure full coverage. •We hope this will clear all the misunderstandings.
Saturday, 11 April 2015 1145 hrs. In process of relcoating from Watkinsville GA (near Athens) to Compton CA. Left GA 31 March 2015. Got last fill-in 30 Mach 2015 from T A Nails, Athens GA; my nails usually last one month...these didn't last a solid week... James, Anthony, what happened. Bwing foreign in Albuquerque NM, I found Walmart Superstore on Carlisle Blvd...sure there was a Regal Nail Shop...Upon arrival, I was sharply refused bc my nails were too long. Imagine that? When I inquired about any other nail shops in the area, I was quickly referred to Impression Nails ... baffled to learn that a "Nail" shop dealt with lengths, I called Impression Nails, spoke with Pete who immediately welcomed me. Although the wait was longer than expected, I was grateful they could accommodate. While getting my fill-in the conversation included my episode with Regal Nails on Carlisle at Wal-Mart. Guess what? Excuse me ... what do they do??? Anyway, my nails were completed at Impression Nails across the street from Wal-Mart (Regal Nails). Thanks, Regal Nails for the referral. I appreciate your honesty... but, please tell me ... how long is 'too long? & how short is too short? Do you actually do NAILS or are you a mirage?Thank you to the owners of Impression Nails. It was a bit of a wait, but definitely worth it. I was informed that I was their first "LONG NAILS'" Customer ever. Seems I make history where ever I go. My friend and I went in to get our nails done, and the man who did them was completely unprofessional. We had to wait for 15 minutes while he hid from his supervisor to talk on his phone. Once he finally decided he was ready, I went first... he did a terrible job. He "filed" my nails--by that, I mean he filed the tips, making them flat and the rest untouched and uneven. We got Gel Nails, and they were uneven, the colors were different because he did two coats on one hand and one on the other. When he was scraping my cuticle, he made them bleed! Not even two days later, a couple of the nails just peeled off. He also made inappropriate jokes about people with autism, with made me extremely uncomfortable. My rating would be much lower, if it weren't that everyone else in the store was very pleasant and nice. I don't know what his name is--but he's a hairdresser. Regardless, I won't go back to him.
I was diagnosed with PCOS and hirsutism, meaning I could give many men a run for their money in the beard department. Through research however, I learned electrolysis, done CORRECTLY, was the only PERMANENT way of removing unwanted hair. More searching led me to Jodi. I went in for an evaluation, and loved her right off, she was so knowledgeable, kind, understanding and non judgmental. Now I’m almost completely hair free! The money, time, and pain were all worth it!!! Also, as an added bonus I got to meet Jodi! Jodi is an expert at what she does, and her compassion makes her ideal. She is patient, understanding, professional, skilled, overall a wonderful person. I recommend Elite Electrolysis to any and all looking to permanently break free of unwanted hair! -LO
I needed a pedicure and this salon's close to my house. I went in with few expectations & was blown away. The salon is bright & open, with separate areas for pedicures and nails. I was most impressed by the cleanliness. All of the techs wear gloves while working on your feet, a new disposable tub liner is used for each customer, and all of the pedicure tools used are either brand new out of the package or have been through an autoclave. The pedicure itself was great! I paid $42 (tax included) for the bottom tier "Deluxe Pedicure" and am thoroughly satisfied. I can't give a 5star review, simply because I have not experienced more of their services, but I would definitely recommend this salon to my friends and family.
OMG. I must insist that you visit and indulge in the pedicure. I got mine with Peppermint and it was fantastic! They are attentive, clean and thorough. Usually, when sitting in the massage chairs, you can look up and see the dust hanging in to light fixtures. Not here. Clean is the order of business. Tools out if the autoclave, massage chairs that really massage and everyone speaks understandable English. I'm going back as soon as I can afford it again. Considering that this would have easily cost $150 in Santa Fe, $40 was majorly do-able. Go and take your friends, family, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, children and whomever else. Excellent.
I came here via recommendation of a coworker of mine, who's nails always look amazing! She constantly received positive comments about them. I knew this was the place when I sent a guest of the hotel, an international supermodel I might add, and she absolutely loved the place. So, now every time she comes to town she chooses Impression. Everyone is really amazing, and very, very kind. Cindy is amazing, and I couldn't imagine anyone else attempting the things that she does. I can bring/describe ANYthing, and she makes it happen. They are very reasonably priced, but that's not to say I wouldn't pay whatever they charged. They are that good!
My mom and I love this nail salon! Fast, friendly service, up to date clean equipment, awesome menu when you sit for a pedi that has great selection w/ prices.. Would of been a relaxing experience if it weren't for the crazy girl who came in after us screaming and demanding a redo on her pedi, her feet looked fine to me - no need to be so rude and condescending to the workers- especially with your grandmother sitting right there!! No respect these days! She'll probably write a bad review (and go nuts when she sees this one too :D), IGNORE IT!!! Best pedi I've gotten in Albuquerque! My mom* and I will definitely be back!!
