A & A Heating & Cooling
I don't even want to give a 1 star rating but had no choice. I Had this company install a ductless mini split system 2 1/2 years ago reassuring me they knew what they were doing. This Jan my units quit running right, called them out and it took them 2 months to figure out the problem and ended up saying I had a leaking coil. They Finally got the Units working properly (so I thought). ($700 for labor) Told us if we had any problems to call them. 3 months later when the heat was 100 degrees outside the units messed up again. Call after call I could not get an answer from Brandi (secretary) or the owner. Finally, It took 1-2 weeks to get them out the 1st time (they couldn't figure out the problem) after one of the techs assured me he had them working right, left and told me to call if they weren't. 2 hours later they were still not working right. Call after call after the 3rd time (5 weeks into dealing with the owner Alvin gunnels) he told me the reason they were not answering my phone calls is because they didn't know what was wrong with my units. Instead of letting me know that so I could call another company, he decided to ignore my phone calls and messages. I ended up calling someone else out and within 2 hours he had the units fixed and $150.00 for dollars later it ended up being something with they did wrong with the wiring when they installed the warranty pods (3 months prior) The men that worked on the units smoked, left their cigerette buds and coke lids in my yard. Didn't put the air unit plate back on properly after they were done. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL NOT ANSWER YOUR PHONE CALLS. I have never left a review before but felt unneeded to warn other customers!

A & A Heating & Cooling
UNSCRUPULOUS, DISHONEST, AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I rarely write reviews, but this was so bad, I have to share to hopefully prevent someone else from having similar issues. We had a terrible experience with A & A Cooling and Heating based out of Albertville, Alabama and I caution anyone from using them. The AC in our house stopped working, and after several visits using additives and blaming us for either turning the system off or on contrary to their direction (he flat lied), they finally added 3lbs of Freon and it worked. We suffered through 85+ degrees in the house for more than a week because they were either dishonest or incompetent (maybe they get paid from American Home Shield for each visit). The technician, Robert lied to AHS about what we told him on how long the AC ran with their magical additive and then again when he returned and found it was frozen (said he told us to turn it off if not cold-NO he didn't!). The only come to HSV a couple days a week and just don't care.
Tips & Advices
  • Talk about specific consequences of their drinking.
  • Choose a time soon after the person experiences a drinking-related problem (missing a shift at work, for example).
  • Do not threaten, guilt, lecture, preach, or use negative labels.
  • Do not try to discuss alcoholism when the person is intoxicated.
Therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists who specialize in the condition can all diagnose and treat alcoholism. People with alcohol-related concerns can also consult their general practitioner, who will refer them to a specialist.
Detoxification is a medically supervised period of alcohol withdrawal to allow the body to purge itself. A doctor or treatment specialist closely monitors a patient to ensure the symptoms of withdrawal do not cause harm. Side effects of alcohol detoxification include:
  • Sweating
  • Vomiting
  • Elevated heart rate
  • High blood pressure
  • Tremors
  • Nausea
  • Sleep issues
  • Paranoia or anxiety
  • Hallucinations
  • Seizures
The cost of addiction treatment varies depending on the type of facility, amenities offered, treatment provided, and size and length of the program. Detoxification ranges from $1,000 to $15,000. Inpatient facilities cost anywhere from $6,000 to $30,000 for a 30-day program and include detoxing. Outpatient programs can cost $500 per session.
Outpatient alcoholism treatment is a part-time form of rehabilitation. Patients continue their normal lives during the day and return to the treatment facility several times per week. Outpatient treatment is generally cheaper than inpatient and can be helpful for people with less severe addictions. Inpatient treatment programs require patients to stay at the facility 24/7 until the completion of the program. They provide a highly controlled environment for patients to overcome their addictions without the distractions or temptations of everyday life. These clinics provide round-the-clock medical care and often include hours of group and personal therapy. Inpatient programs are beneficial for people with severe addictions or those who have overdosed.
