Ginger Man is at the top of Greenwich Ave, almost to the intersection of the Old Post Road (Route 1). It is a pub style restaurant, w/ a long bar when you enter, 2 floors (although I've never seen anyone upstairs), a fireplace in the rear of the place which is cozy during winter nights. This is a chain bar - there is one in NYC and Norwalk, CT that I know of. Both are good. There are lots of beers on tap. Many seasonal beer offerings. The menu has the typical chicken wings and burgers (both good) but also some unusual dishes that are worth trying: the salmon BLT is really good, plus the Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. There are locals who sit at the bar during the afternoon & you can read all the NYC papers while sipping a beer and munching on wings. Also, you'll see business peeps from around the area here especially for lunch. Also great for kids & family: the staff handles all of these groups well.
Good Atmosphere, great food with homeade pizza, burgers, wraps and more that will keep you coming back! Definately a good stop for grabbing some food and a beer with friends. Prices are good and theres always consistent above-par food with some of the best moonshine wings ever. Not a place to bring the kids after 5 or so... as it gets kind of a "barish" crowd, but lunch is always a safe bet. REALLY GOOD STUFF PEOPLE!
One of the best hotels in Albany...I would say the BEST hotel. I stayed for several days in the J Suite. It was fantastic. Great room, with a fire place, huge bathroom and the bed and decor was comfortable. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The location is in the heart of Downtown Albany, making it very convenient. Parking is easy, but you have to get valet.
Good food, fair prices. More of a younger crowds type of place since it has a bar in the front area and dining room in the back. Ive have always had good food here and they have some interesting selections that are much different than what you would expect for the bar/cafe feel. Pretty decent palce for lunch if youre in the Albany Area on business.
Had a great Hollow Burger and beer with a large group. One of the servers really went out of their way to help our party of 7 settle in to a new table when we realized a band was about to start playing. Will definitely be back - a lot!
One of our favorite spots in Downtown Albany! This place has an amazing brunch and free pizza with a drink purchase. If you live in Albany or the surrounding area, or are in town for anything, definitely stop in for food and drink.
The people that work there are weird! The bartenders kept staring at me and my friend the whole time before one of the bartenders took our drink order which was over priced. Plus, there was a bad smell coming from the kitchen.
