AJ Electric did a quality job for me. I needed some extra lighting put into my home and was calling around comparing prices with other electricians. What impressed me the most about Jeff Tilton from AJ Electric was his professionalism on the phone. He was very courteous and knowledgeable and his prices were comparable to other electricians. I told him what I needed to be done and he did not waste time in getting to what I was asking for. When he came to my home he was cautious of keeping things clean and making sure the job was done right. I am a very picky person and Jeff did a beautiful job on the installment of the lighting for my artwork. I highly recommend Jeff for the job. You can trust that he will do quality work for a good price.

I called AJ Electric and told them I lost my power this week and wanted them to hook up a generator to power my electric. He showed on time at 8:00 pm (after hours) and began to install the generator. Because of the age of my home the instillation became complicated. The electrician stayed until 11:00 pm until he knew I was taken care of. He went the extra mile and completed the task. I was extremely impressed with the electricians knowledge and skill, along with the great customer service. I would recommend them to anyone.

Jeff was excellent! I called about having some electrical work done in the office and he came over within a half hour and gave me an estimate that was well below that of the other electricians I had talked to. He came out the very next day and did the work. He was very quick, professional, and thorough. Pinning down contractors can be frustrating so I highly recommend AJ Electric: compared to the week I had waited to hear back from another company, this two day turn around from start to finish was great. Thanks!

We want to thank AJ Electric for their professionalism and expertise in replacing an ancient main building circuit breaker. Normally a relatively routine job, this one also required the complete replacement of the obsolete service and meter boxes, and the wiring all the way to the transformer. All of this too for a very reasonable price. They were on time and completed all the modifications and replacements very quickly - No games or billing add-ons.

First time customer of AJ Electric who replaced an old 100 amp circuit breaker box with new 200 amp service. I was highly satisfied with Jeff's work ethic and professionalism. Jeff listened to my requirements and fulfilled all expectations while being adaptable to a few changes along the way. City of Tulsa inspector complimented the good quality of work done. Strongly recommend to anyone who wants a quality job at a fair price done in a timely manner.

I called Jeff because we had a few small electrical issues that needed to be fixed. He was prompt, effecient, effective, competent, honest and personable. He fixed all of our electrical problems and helped me solve some problems he did not actually have to repair. I love an honest and professional repairman! I will call him every time we need a electrician in the future!

I had an urgent electrical situation that needed a very immediate response. Jeff came out within 30 minutes of my call. He was professional and did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. Other companies will try to "stick it to you" once they see you in a situation like this. In the future he'll be the first one I would call.

Jeff was the epitome of amazing. We needed a simple repair, but Lowes was going to take about a week. I called Jeff; he was over the next day (about 12 hours after I called). He was punctual, professional, and true to his word. We paid exactly what he said we would, and his quality of work was awesome. I highly recommend AJ Electric.

I will only use AJ Electric from now on! Jeff is awesome. Very professional and nice to deal with. He did a fantastic job the same day I called him. He knows what he is doing and he cleaned up after he finished installing our fixtures and vent-a-hood. Will call him every time I need a licensed electrician.

  • Do not use an appliance that has a frayed cord.
  • Do not staple extension cords into place or cover them with carpets or furniture.

  • Have an electrician look at your fuse box to ensure you have the right size fuses and circuit breakers. The wrong size fuse or breaker can be a fire hazard.
  • If you have fault circuit interrupters installed in your electrical panel, make sure you test them at least once a month by turning them on and off.
It can cost from $40-$100 an hour depending on the job. This does not include additional costs for parts or trip fees. Make sure to ask in advance what they charge for or if they will provide a free quote.
In order to become a full-fledged professional, a person must undergo an apprenticeship with master and journeyman electricians. An apprentice needs 8,000 hours of practical work before graduating to the journeyman level. If an apprentice reaches journeyman status, he or she can complete most electrical work, but cannot design it until completing more testing along with 2,000 more on-the-job hours.
Yes. While all electricians need a license, not all of them do the same types of jobs.
  • Outside: These types of electricians work outdoors on electrical lines that connect to power plants.
  • Inside: Inside experts typically focus on commercial and industrial buildings that require a lot of power.
  • Residential: Residential electricians work with low-voltage systems and wiring to install fuse boxes and light fixtures.
Watch out for contractors that greatly underbid other electricians. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Also, always remember to get the estimate in writing before settling on a company.
