Kool Smiles
I never knew what love was until I met my nurse at Kool Smiles. KenDell was the sweetest most amazing woman I've ever met. From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted with her sensational smile I knew this was the dental office for me. Signing in was a breeze, and in what seemed like moments later I was being seated in an extraordinarily well organized private surgery room. The nurse never left my side from start to end, and without even knowing it, her presence alone was enough to assure me everything would be okay. I cherish every moment I spent with her by my side at Kool Smiles, and I can only look forward to the day I chip a tooth, need a filling, or just have an intolerable pain in my mouth, so that I can once again be reunited with the wonderful KenDell and her co-workers at Kool Smiles.

Kool Smiles
Great appointment! Everything went extraordinarily well. I walked in at 9am,got called at 9:30. I was waiting with my dental asst. Until 10. My whole body started shaking and my blood pressure doubled. If it wasn't for my amazing dental asst Brittany, helping me calm down and keep me calm I probably would have had to reschedule. Dr. Patel is a wonderful dentist. He took four(all) of my wisdom teeth out in under 40 minutes. No pain at all. Just a little bit of pain on my last tooth, but by the time the pain was happening he had already got my tooth out. Thank you doctor Patel, and thank you so much Brittany. Hope to see yall at my next appointment. =D

Abilene Dental Care
I have had nothing but great experiences at Abilene Dental Care. I was pretty skeptical at first because they took over the practice after my previous dentist retired(south side location). I get nervous when it comes to having teeth worked on but both Dr. Johnson's were very kind, caring, professional, answered every question I have had willingly, and they let me know everything about my dental care currently as well as what might need to happen in the future. All of the women helping them have been very kind as well! My teeth look great, no problems with the recent filling and crown I had put on, and great personal and professional people!

Although my kids hate going to the dentist all the staff that we came in contact with were very comforting to my kids and made there experience more better. Leticia at the front desk was welcoming and always nice, Amber ,Joe, and Dr. Patel were very informative and helped my kids along the way during there cleaning and X-ray exam experience, Kendall was the assistant who continued to reassure my daughter that she was in great hands she was awesome and I Appreciate her kindness and patience with my daughter.

Kool Smiles
While I'm definitely not impressed with the amount of time I always end up spending in the waiting room, the customer service has ALWAYS been excellent! Leticia at the front desk is always so welcoming & helpful. She always does her best to meet my needs as far as appointment times & payment information. Honestly, if she weren't the best at what she does, I would have already changed dentist offices due to the wait time. She has keep me coming back!

Kool Smiles
I called Kool Smiles of Abilene. I was needing a copy of my child's last cleaning record. I talked to Shannon, the office manager and she help me with a difficult process. Most of the time when you want records at a doctor's office they just keep telling you to call medical records and give you the runaround. But Shannon helped me immediately, making the process so smooth. I had the records in just minutes after I sent her the release form.

Kool Smiles
My son went in for some fillings today, the last time he had to get fillings a lady told me he was to young for the laughing gas. So my son had to fill them give him 3 shots in his mouth. I was not happy. Today was so much better, the DA, Patty was very nice and showed concern for my son. She made sure my son was comfortable. Dr. Patel was also very nice and easy with my son. I want to thank both of them and the rest of the staff.

Familia Dental
I was blown away by the kindness of my sons dentist and his staff. They were very approachable. They understood my concerns and gave me honest feedback. My doctor and his staff stayed beyond closing time to treat my son. They didn't rush us because it was getting later. They took their time and were patient explaining aftercare treatment and medication side effects.

Kool Smiles
My kid's love kool smiles. They love getting individual treatment and the new toothbrushes at the end of the visit. While they wait they get to play, so time goes by much faster and they get to color while in the chair. This make's the visit a much better visit for me too. We love kool smiles . It's even better now that they except adults.
Tips & Advices
The most common dental problems in children are:
  • Cavities
  • Bad breath
  • Gum disease
  • Sensitive teeth
  • Grinding
  • Canker sores
  • Missing teeth
  • Extra teeth
  • Bite and alignment issues
Thumb sucking is not specifically a dental problem, but it can cause a malocclusion, a condition where the top and bottom teeth don't line up correctly.
To clean a baby's teeth, use a small, soft-bristled toothbrush designed specifically for infants. Apply a tiny amount of non-fluoride toothpaste - about the size of a grain of rice - and gently brush all sides of the teeth and the tongue. Before the baby's first teeth emerge, use gauze or a wet washcloth wrapped around the finger to wipe the gums. This motion doesn't necessarily reduce bacteria, but it does help the infant to get used to the sensation of having his or her teeth cleaned.
Children should visit their pediatric dentist every six months. This recommended frequency does not change throughout a person's lifetime.
No, wisdom teeth do not need to be removed unless they cause pain, lead to dental issues, or are aligned incorrectly.
Yes, dental sealants prevent cavities by filling in deep grooves in the teeth. Without them, bacteria can collect in these areas and cause tooth decay, which can happen with children.
