DO NOT BOOK HERE!

We planned a trip here from July 10-13 Thursday to Sunday, the parks amenities were not bad. We booked a yogi in the pines cabin and got stuck with cabin 229y we booked in March and ended up in this cabin and a family friend booked in May and got a cabin in the 500's same type of cabin with far more space and comfort than ours, their porch was significantly bigger and they had far more space inside of the cabin. THIS IS NOT THE PART THAT UPSET ME! The upsetting thing was the fact that we paid a pretty penny for this cabin which is fine and dandy but Saturday at around 6 pm we ended up powerless until almost 2 am, no ac in 90 degree heat which would be fine if we packed to expect the need of camping outdoor, we were left with no option, when we asked the maintenance people Matt and Joe we were told to put our name on a list and the owner Bruce would maybe consider some sort of reimbursement or arrange something for our inconvenience, then we were told when we asked what we were supposed to do with our children ages 2,7,9 and two senior citizen parents one with a heart condition and the other that must have a breathing machine to sleep, they said well to accommodate you all we left the pool open until 9 and the arcade open all night, my husband asked well are we supposed to sleep in the arcade joe replied yea sure you can. The least they could do with the people in these at least 10 cabins that were left without power was put us all in a cool room to sleep with our children and families and nothing was done, on checkout the next morning we were offered to stay at the park for the day but that was it! Nothing else not even an I'm sorry! They said it was the power companies fault and not theirs! Which is maybe understood but the least you could do is accommodate these people that have spent hard earned money to enjoy a vacation with their children! Needless to say the trip back were planning on taking with our entire family here will not be made! This was uncalled for and very upsetting! The worse part was the nonchalant I don't care attitude toward the situation! Very very unsatisfied to say the least! And by the way the maintenance guy joe said with out meaning to that this isn't the first time this has happened! You'd think a place like this would get back up generators.

Camping with Training Wheels

The good: Great for families with kids 12 and under. Fairly recent upgrades to facilities.  Relatively clean restrooms and shower facilities. The staff was always polite.   Not so good: Not cheap if you are renting a cabin.  Price of cabin does NOT include facility usage fee of $8 per night per person. This can add up with a family of 5. During my visit in mid April 2013 the big water slides were open for short period of time on Saturday and completely closed on Sunday.  This was a big disappointment for the kids. This is not a place to go if you are a serious camper looking for a nature getaway.  Really more of a trailer park atmosphere.  More like camping with training wheels.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We stayed...

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We stayed at the park a month ago. Not only was everyone very rude, they have now proven to be dishonest. A month after our stay I get a charge on my credit card for $600.00. When I contacted them, they are saying we damaged the golf cart we had rented. We turned in the golf cart in perfect condition, exactly as we received it. I have a picture of it the morning we checked out. Now, the park is claiming that we ran it into a tree and caused $600 in damages. They say the gentlemen that took our cart must not have noticied the damage. Hits a tree...$600 in damages and he doesn't notice...does that make any sense??? A month after our stay!!! They are very dishonest and liars as we caused no such damage. Do not trust this park!!!!
