Advertising unhealthy breeds and genes as rare with unique coats. Follows that up by deleting their Facebook review section and deletes any comments on their page questioning the safety and health of the breeds they're advertising and then blocks the person. Disgraceful, do your business elsewhere if you can.

Terrible. They are selling double dapple dachshund as a "rare" color. This is not a good breeding practice and leads to many problems, like blindess. They are also blocking anyone who inquires as to whether or not two dapples should be bred, or anyone who points out their concerns. There are many "rare" dogs here, but are mostly a result of improper breeding. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM. They also disabled reviews on Facebook because of all the negative ones!

I'm gonna write a review regarding the birds. I'm experienced with birds and know several avian specialists personally. There were several cockatiels in a cage too small to accommodate them. Four of them were losing feathers. The water was filthy, the cage lacked proper toys and entertainment, and I doubt they have any time to get exercise and enrichment. Their flight feather were wrinkly, a sign of a nutrient-poor diet. The lovebirds were housed with budgies. Lovebirds are known to attack birds of other species and should **NEVER** be housed with other birds. They too were in a cage that was too small and few enrichment toys were given. How can someone who sells pet birds not even know the basics of bird care and bird illnesses. This is a prime example as to why pet stores should not be allowed to sell birds. The beautiful resident sulphur crested cockatoo, Woodstock, is the bird who receives the best care and he is left in his cage by the entrance. I don't know if he is let out before opening or after closing, but in the several times I visited, all at different times, he was locked in his cage with very few toys to entertain him while patiently waiting for his owner. I ended up letting him put holes in my clothes just to keep him entertained. He is a sweetheart in his 50s who deserves attention and loving during the day. I understand why there is a lock on his cage, considering there are twisted-minded parrot thieves out there, but a window is not enough for this lonely bird and it's important for him to get more time outside-of-cage. All of the bird stores in the area have their parrots outside of their cage with plenty of food, toy, and perch options in at least one section of the store.
The shelves weren't properly stocked, but had some essentials. They sold bird grit, which should NEVER be given to parrots as it can obstruct their digestive tracts. Mineral grit is exclusively for finches, which weren't being sold at the store when I visited.
The aquariums were definitely filthy, as mentioned in one review. I don't understand how the tanks could get so brown, green, and slimy. Half of them didn't have any visible marine animals in them, but microbial marine life was rampant in them.
The staff were friendly every time I went there and simply doing their job.
Perhaps this place was clean, fully-stocked, and provided proper care to their animals in the past, but right now, its reputation is being tarnished and worst of all, the well-being of the animals is in jeopardy. If I'm called a liar like how the other reviewer was, I invite everyone to take a nice visit.

We purchased a puppy 2 days ago and discovered today that she has worms
We have proof and have filed a complaint with the dept of agriculture after the owner Jeff refused to refund us and accept responsibility for selling a sick down.

I have been going to this pet store since I was 5 years old and now I'm 34. I used to sell them my baby parakeets and they help me find homes for 2 puppies. I think it is pathetic that there are some people out there who are seating rumors

This is the cleanest and best supplied store I've very been to. The people that work there know more than any store in the area. I been able to get all of my questions answered without any problems on the spot.. They carry all types of pets and are very well taken care of. I would recommed them to anyone that has a pet.. And if looking for another, I don't think you can beat their prices.

You people must have been catching it on a "good day" been going in there since Wednesday to check on the husky's they have there. Today it took a turn for the worst (which I didn't think could be after Friday's visit) On Wednesday, I went in there and the owner was as cocky as they come. The puppies in there are a mess. I am a very proud dog Mom to two huskies, I know the breed.. the way that they were acting is not how 12 week puppies act. Sleeping, lethargic.. etc. The discharge from their noses were enough to make me want to scream. We decided to look around the rest of the store and it wasn't suprising that the fish tanks were disgusting, the algae eaters were eating 5+ dead fish in a tank. The fact of the matter is this place has been shut down NUMEROUS of times but we were told by Animal Control that the state makes too much money off of them to keep them completely shut down because they can pay for the fines and reopen. Way to go, Illinois by keeping this place in business. I am taking my complaint to higher grounds as I WILL be contacting Illinois Department of Agriculture in the morning. This place NEEDS to be shut down. The owner is nothing but a money hungry, greedy, arrogant low life who walks around in a suit with his Corvette sitting outside, making money off of these puppies, kittens, birds, fish, etc. I don't know how he can sleep at night knowing those poor animals are sick. 28 years doesn't mean anything. Do yourselves a favor and find a REPUTABLE breeder who you can actually talk to, meet the parents, etc. He acts like you're getting a "deal" and the "best puppies" around... LIES!
This girl writes nothing but lies. There is zero truth in what she writes, and doesn't have any creditably.

My friend and I stopped in there to check out the puppies and saw alot of really cute ones. I was curious about the little Min-Pin they had and asked one of the ladies that was working some questions about it, after she answered my many questions I found myself buying him. My intention wasn't to buy a dog, but to get information about the different breeds they have. I don't know who owns the store, I just have to say keep up the good work!!!! It's a wonderful feeling to go into a place and get waited on immediately, especially by adults that know what they are talking about. I'll never go into a place that has young kids working because they are rude and worry too much about each other, rather than waiting on the customers!!!!!!!! I will go back to King Neptune.
