My husband and I had appointments for an annual visit to update our eye prescriptions, which is covered by our insurance plan for the 10.00 copay. Upon our arrival, the doctor advised us that he could not provide that service at the 10.00 copay unless we agreed to bill to our medical insurance (in our case pay out of pocket) an additional 150.00 each for medical diagnosis. He explained that he could not simply accept the 10.00 copay service without our paying the additional 150.00 each. As we would not agree, he refused to provide service and opted instead to tell his office manager to charge us a cancellation fee 5x the copay that we had never agreed too.

Horrible customer service!!

I live close to Brighton Vision so I decided to stop in to see if they would adjust my glasses (basically just bend the arm pieces to fit over my ears better). I asked if they could adjust them and the lady at the desk looked over at an older gentlemen, who I assumed was the eye doctor. He said they don't I live close to Brighton Vision so I decided to stop in to see if they would adjust my glasses (basically just bend the arm pieces to fit over my ears better). I asked if they could adjust them and the last at the desk looked over at an older gentlemen, who I assume was the eye doctor. He said they don't normally adjust glasses that were not purchased there but that he would take a look after he finished with the customer sitting in front of him. I browsed around while I waited. Finally he had me sit at the table in front of him (and he was quite the grump I might add) and looked at my glasses and then said he couldn't do it. He said if it was something minor he might have (hello...bending the ear pieces sounds pretty easy to me!) I then said I could pay him and he still said no. So he had me wait there to tell me what he already knew. I have had my glasses adjusted at other well known vision centers without a problem and I expected the same from this place, but that was definitely not the service I received. I will never go back there, nor will I recommend them. It is no wonder they only had one customer in their store. Lousy customer service!

I first brought my 9 year-old...

I first brought my 9 year-old son for an eye exam. We were brought back by a young man, for measurements of his eyes. He had a great deal of trouble obtaining the measurements, probably because my son wasn't keeping his eyes still. This went on for over 5 minutes, though he never spoke to my son to explain to him what he needed him to do. Finally, the young man called for Keegan, the optometric assistant, to come in and do the measurements. She was very friendly, and explained all the devices to my son, in a very age-appropriate way.

After that, we were brought in for the actual exam, by Dr. Moore. He did not say "hello" to my son, or say anything to establish rapport / make him feel at ease. At one point during the eye exam, my son giggled about something. Dr. Moore told him to "please stop laughing", in a serious tone of voice.

At the conclusion, it was determined that my son's vision was borderline, but glasses weren't necessary at this time. I very much appreciated the honesty.

About 2 weeks later, I came in with my daughter, who is a young adult and contact lens wearer. Following her exam, which she went into alone, I was told that she has an astigmatism and would need toric lenses to correct that. We sat down with Chris Stefano, the optician, to discuss the possibility of new lenses. I asked what was wrong with her old contact lenses. He said that her old lenses were plain spherical lenses; that my daughter needs toric lenses to correct the astigmatism. He explained very clearly to me what our costs would be for the contact lens fitting and the lenses that she would try. I agreed at that point to go ahead with the fitting, since, evidently, my daughter did not have the correct type of lenses (or so I was told). So, I paid for the contact lens fitting ($126.65, which included 1 pair of contacts to try out) and my copay for the exam.

As we drove home, my daughter informed me that no one had ever looked at her old lenses, or checked her vision with them in. I called the next day, and spoke to Chris. I asked him why he told me that my daughter's old lenses were not the right kind, when no one had ever looked at them. He did not deny saying that, and only said that he didn't know why he said it. I told him that I would like to return the trial lenses, and get a refund for the fitting fee. After speaking, at length, with Chris and the office manager, Pat, the bottom line is that Brighton Vision will not give refunds.

***As it turns out, my daughter's old lenses WERE toric lenses.

great place to buy glasses! they were very helpful! i think that this is a husband and wife team of doctors, very professional and accomodating. i was an hour late for my appointment and they still took me in. i was impressed with their store, it was new! the last place i went to was old, falling apart. the staff was very nice made the tedious task of choosing a new frame a lot easier. this place is definitely worth going to!
