This place is overhyped IMO. The fried chicken is good, however the sides are awful. The mashed potatoes are loaded with lemon juice. I thought the sour cream had gone bad but they assured me it was just the lemon juice. You also get creamed corn (gross) that is loaded with sugar. You get plain iceberg lettuce salad with nothing else but a nasty house oil and vinegar dressing. You get no choices with the sides. You don't get it your way here. This place is an old car repair garage and they made no attempt to make it nice to eat there. When you order to go check to make sure you even got the chicken as they are careless when packing to go orders. Enjoy!

First of all, you have to understand that babes is a tourist attraction. For some reason people come from all over the world to Texas and desire to eat at babes in Roanoke Texas. Babes has a very busy cafeteria style feel to it. Everyone Who lives in Texas knows about babes. Basically what they survive the Benyou and what they are famous for is the famous southern dish, chicken fried steak. Now if you've never had chicken fried steak you want to find out what it is before you go there because when you order you are going to get a big one. And there isn't much else to order at babes this is what it's known for.
Because babes is so popular if you go there on a weekend you may have to wait to get in if it's hot out they have fans that blow moisture at you this sort of cool you down and they have seats outside the place in the street or should I say out of the sidewalk? Yes, you may have to wait to get into babes it is that popular. Everyone who visits Texas should Try babes.

This hostess Jeyci Lopez is the kindest babe of babes and was so nice to my family and I. She made sure everything was okay and had a very positive attitude. This emoloyee deserves a raise!

The Cedar HIll location is a new one - not listed yet, but we received excellent service, and good 'home cooking'. Finding the ladies room was an adventure! Check it out for a laugh.

We just had Babe's cater the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding. They did an awesome job and the staff is so friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong by choosing them for your next event.
