In August I was driving across country from Tampa to California. I stopped at this restraunt late in the evening. The service and food were just what I needed. What made this a memorable stop for me was an older gentleman who struck up a convdersation with me. I believe he made a comment on the hat I was wearing. A compliment actually. He talked of many things. Very well spoken. A self made man to be sure. It has been more than 30 years since I have had the pleasure of hearing a true southern drawl spoken with such a richness. It brought to mind my father who 's resting place I had just visited for the first time in Tampa. He died in 1978. For a time he came alive again through the chance meeting with the old southern gentleman.
