The One-to-One Learning Center is dedicated to providing the best tutoring, academic screening, psychological and psychoeducational testing, and ACT, SAT and PSAT test preparation. Conveniently located off the Edens Expressway, we have been in business for nearly forty years. All of our tutors are experienced classroom teachers. Is your child struggling with a particular subject? Sometimes we all need a little extra support to get the job done. A student in school is no different. We are here to assist your child in mastering the area in which he or she is struggling. Our tutoring helps your child: *Study more efficiently *Learn organizational skills *Learn test-taking strategies *Build self-esteem Our testing services find solutions to academic and motivational problems. The process starts with conversation between you and our diagnostician. After learning the history of your child's school difficulties a recommendation can be made. Academic screening assesses math, reading, language, organizational and study skills using both informal and formal tests. It provides information useful for tutor matching, and generates a program plan with specific goals for the tutorial. Full psychological and psychoeducational testing assesses intellectual functioning, attention, motivation, social and emotional development, perceptual processing, language skills, and academic achievement. Our Academic Screening services include a written report, feedback conference and recommendations. One-to-One Learning Center offers preparation for ACT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, and PSAT. You can choose between a small class or an individual tutorial. Classes are held at numerous locations throughout the area and are taught by experienced teachers. ACT and SAT Review courses include a pre- and post test, 18 - 19 hours of instruction, and practice on strategy-oriented topic specific worksheets. Individual tutorials allow us to tailor the presentation to the specific needs of each student. Individual tutorials are held here at The Center. The recommended program is 12 sessions for ACT and SAT and 10 sessions for PSAT. Sessions can be scheduled at the student's convenience - after school, weekday evenings, or on weekends.
