Wrongful Death
On day-to-day matters Mednick negotiates contracts for his municipal clients, has conducted investigations and inquiries into administrative practices of city officials and operations and has provided opinions and analysis of municipal law. Mednick represented the Bristol Police Department in a wrongful death civil action where he successfully invoked the doctrine of investigatory privilege to protect police investigative files in a 7 year old unsolved murder. On behalf of the Bridgeport Board of Education Mednick completed a complex settlement paving the way for the construction of the first new public school in alomost 50 years. In 2009 he completed a negotiation of a multi-party settlement relating to the demolition of the Pequonnock Housing Project on behalf of the City of Bridgeport. Mednick is currently serving Bridgeport as Special Counsel in the development of the Bridgeport Sound Development. Mednick has also served as Special Counsel to the State Contract Standards Board, where he drafted reform legislation that will be considered in the September Special Session of the General Assembly. He is also Special Counsel to the Departments of Information Technology and Motor Vehicles in the development of the Real Time On-Line Registration System. He has served as a consultant to the State of New Hampshire pertaining to technology procurement reform. As a solo practitioner Mednick is also able to devote considerable energy to major projects on his client’s behalf. He also has engaged in creative joint representation arrangements with many of the major law firms in the State, where specialized services are necessary.
