Butch's Sound & Vision

My wife and I are very pleased that we chose to buy from Butch's. Last year we decided to update and upgrade our component stereo system. Butch, his wife and his associate Tim were extremely helpful in providing us the information we needed to make an informed purchase. We were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy, despite our admission that we are not wealthy and were limited in price range and space in our home. We are extremely satisfied with our purchase and have been enjoying the system since then. Note that while I don't know if this qualifies us as "audiophiles", my wife and I frequently attend live music concerts and have for decades. So I believe we know something about how music is supposed to sound. In addition, we more recently purchased a high-def TV from Butch's. When we arrived, we were treated to the same welcome as in the past, and have been very pleased with our purchases. The equipment we bought is somewhat higher end than can be found in most chain retailers. Note that we have shopped in advance and we can report that we were given very attractive deals when compared to other sources of this quality equipment. We are definitely satisfied customers and recommend this dealer to our trusted friends and family.

I'll be the first to admit I'm no audiophile, but Butch and Tim could not have treated me any better. My wife and I were redoing the kitchen and wanted portable wireless sound throughout the house. We first thought we wanted wireless to play CD's but were quickly disabused of that notion from several sources. When I called, Butch and Tim quickly set up an appointment to come to my house (we live in the city of Pittsburgh), and they were great telling me about the options. I then stopped out to the store and Butch was terrific demonstrating the various options. Really liked the ability to sit in the living room and hear the home theatre system live. The best part was that Bunch didn't try to sell me on anything. I told him what I thought would work and he didn't try to upsell me. Lastly, their home service was great! Tim set it up for us, and no issues whatsoever. I have recommended them to several other in my neighborhood because of the professionalism and low-key approach these two brought to the process.



All in all, a great job. OH, BTW, for the cynical poster who noted that the good Doc might have gotten a discount, no such discount offered, they were competitive with Best Buy, and I offered to write this for them. I have never done something like this before, but was so impressed with Butch's approach i felt compelled to do this.

I see that Dr. Bob's review (user who posted) has posted a comment which is exactly the type of person Butch's sound shack loves. A clueless rich doctor that knows nothing about stereo equipment and only knows the best prescriptions.

I agree with the negative previous negative review. I have called there twice now, and I spoke to a women also. I was looking for an integrated amp, and a set of bookshelfs. I had a budget of 300-500 for each componant. These where two separate calls, months apart. When I told her my budget and asked for available models, she said Butch was busy (both times) and suggested I come in the store. She couldn't even give me any prices or product details. I explained to her that I live an hour away, so she took my name and number (both times) and told me Butch would call me back. HE NEVER DID Both times. VERY POOR BUSINESS! I try to support local businesses, but in this case I would rather order online
