Dental Examination
Visit us at least twice a year for your regular cleaning and exam. We may recommend daily use of a fluoride rinse or fluoride gel to keep your teeth healthy.

Teeth Cleaning
Most children and adults should get a dental cleaning and check-up every six months. People at a greater risk for oral diseases should have dental check ups more than twice a year. Tobacco and alcohol use, diabetes, pregnancy, periodontal gum disease, poor oral hygiene and certain medical conditions are some of the many factors that we take into consideration when recommending how often you need your dental cleaning and check up.
Fluoride Treatment

Fillings
The answer to this question will be different for each person. We only recommend removing mercury amalgam fillings that are damaged or broken. Although there is no scientific evidence that replacing them will improve your health, many patients are eager to have the material removed from their mouths for health reasons anyway, or for aesthetic reason.
Veneers
Porcelain Veneers are a step forward in cosmetic dentistry. Veneers are thin, durable “shells” of porcelain that are bonded to the surface of your teeth, enabling you to change the color, shape, and alignment of your teeth. Placing veneers is a more conservative procedure than crowns. Because they are made of porcelain, they are very strong and resist staining and chipping.
Crowns
Porcelain (All-Ceramic) Crowns are an improved type of crown that appears natural and are an aesthetically pleasing alternative for front teeth. Since they do not have a metal substructure, they don’t leave you with a black shadow at the gum line. Another advantage is that Porcelain Crowns are bonded to the tooth for added strength and longevity.
Bridges

Root Canal Treatment
As one ages, the incidence for decay can increase, especially at the root surface. The exposure of the tooth’s root surface can occur in seniors primarily from gum tissue receding as one ages. Root surfaces do not have a protective enamel layer and are primarily composed of softer cementum, which easily decays. Plaque and bacteria can accumulate on these surfaces, increasing the risk for this type of decay, especially in the case of dry mouth as discussed above. Since the root surface lacks enamel, decay can more easily penetrate to the tooth’s pulp (nerve), which can cause endodontic (root canal) problems and, in the worst scenarios, tooth loss.

Dentures
Dry mouth is a common side effect of many medications, but how does it affect you? Saliva is the natural cleanser of the mouth. It buffers acid produced by the body as well as acid produced by bacteria that cause decay and periodontal disease. Patients with dry mouth are at higher risk for tooth decay and periodontal disease due to decreased saliva. Dry mouth can be exacerbated by ill-fitting dental appliances such as full or partial dentures.

Dental Implants
Bridges are a natural-looking replacement option for missing teeth. Bridges can be supported by adjacent teeth, by implants, or by a combination of both. The benefits of bridges are that they can fill most gaps, they last a long time with proper care, and they look natural. Generally bridges can be fabricated in two visits to Dr. Paris.

Orthodontics
Missing teeth may set off a chain reaction of dental problems over time that can change your bite and develop food traps. This can cause bad breath, tooth decay, periodontal disease and bone loss. Depending on the circumstances involved, fixed dental devices, like bridges or dental implants, may be a solution to restore the function of your teeth and improve oral health. Teeth Whitening
We have found that the most effective whitening is with a home bleaching kit using professionally made custom-fitted bleaching trays. The whitening is often more even looking and creates less sensitivity than other whitening products. Most patients get to their desired shade in about two weeks. Sometimes it takes three to four weeks.
