WATCH OUT! This business will scam you with a Groupon to get you in the door, then you will see no results but end up paying big bucks for "additional treatments".

I went to them for over a year, paid hundreds of dollars to treat a small area of hyper-pigmentation, and never saw any results at all. Currently I have been trying to get my medical records from them, but it's been weeks, and they are not cooperating with me. I'm going to an MD to be treated, and they need my previous records.

They keep telling me "someone will get back to you" and that has not happened.

I had the WORST experience with them-Kirkland office. I bought a package for laser hair removal and I have one last treatment left. I called back in March to schedule an appointment and I spoke with a female that I did not get her name. She told me there is nothing available until today May 8th and we scheduled for 11:30 am. Usually I get a phone call, email, and a text a day prior the appointment. Yesterday I did not get anything from Aura Skin Care. I called today and I spoke to a female who apologized and said I am not on your schedule. She said she will call me with another time. I told her it is OK if it is next week. This is not the first time that this is happening. I had this happen before, to which I was OK. We scheduled another appointment to which I attended. I am always on time, and I always wait 10-20 min after appointment to get in, to which once I waited 30 min to get in. I never complained about that, nor wrote any negative reviews. I understand how systems work sometimes. This time I was OK as long as I have it within a week done. The lady said she will call me back. Since she did not call me, I called back and spoke with another female who stated her name as Rachel, whos language over the phone was not welcomed and very mean. She mentioned something about reviews and refusing services and hung up. I was surprised how unprofessional and stupid she spoke to me, a customer that was referring clients to their clinic. I called back to talk about it,because I did not understand her before she hung up.She spoke really fast and yelled on the phone. All that for rescheduling appointment that was supposed to happen today and was not in their system again?????? I was very very very surprised. It seems they do that a lot to other people.Canceling appointments or not having them on their schedule. When I called there was no one by that name, and she "Rachell" answered the phone. I wanted to talk to owner or manager about it, and she told me she is the only one, and not to call Aura anymore. I never leave negative reviews, and this time I had it. I am very unsatisfied and not happy the way they operate business and the people they hired to work for them. All I wanted is to reschedule for when they have time.It was clear the last girl I spoke to "Rachell" seemed immature, rude, and unprofessional.DO NOT BUY anything with them. You will get attitude, canceled appointments or forgotten appointments......They also never return calls, as I have left numerous voicemails.Their laser hair removal equipment does not work well either. Results will take longer than normal. Most important is their customer services is HORRIBLE. You have to feel welcomed when you call or go there, and you get opposite. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THEM!!!! You will be sorry!!!!

I am very happy with my experience. I have been a long term client and have read negative reviews about clients having to wait. I know that though it may be an inconvenience, but when I am taken back, the time allowed for me is as much as I need. I'm a chicken and during the process the doctor goes at my pace. Because each patient has different needs, timing is unpredictable. I highly recommend aura. Katy at the front desk handles a very high volume of phone calls while taking care of patients with professional ease.

LOTS of of being on phone hold to get appointments. My last scheduled appointment was apparently never put in the system and so the trip there was pointless. Receptionists aren't particularly personable at either location.

If there was a way to leave 0 stars I would. I purchased several packages and saw Zero results. The fotofacial, microderm... didn't work at all. They don't have a receptionist and you wait literally atleast 5 minutes to get someone on the phone. they use groupon to scam you into spending more money... do not go. Do not buy a groupon, do not waste your time

Overall

I purchased 3 packages for Aura Laser services in August 2013 from Groupon. My daughter was diagnosed with cancer in September 2013 and she had 2 surgeries and 3.5 months of chemotherapy thereby explaining our delay in getting services done with Aura. They are and have been aware of the delay however…..It has been one bad experience after another. I have had them cancel appointments several time due to lack of any aestheticians available to work that day. I have been treated at least once by someone I was sure was either high or drunk. (I mentioned it to the front desk later and they told me she no longer worked there and hinted it was because of that reason.) After that treatment my daughter had stripes where clearly large areas were missed.

The front desk is always rude and argumentative. Once told we were late for our appointment and they would have to reschedule however it is the time they wrote down on the back of a business card, not even an appointment card and the ink was rubbing off but could still read the time clearly.

After not being able to go for about 8 months while my 16 year old daughter had surgery to remove a tumor and receive chemotherapy, I am now told that I have used up all our treatments and may actually owe them money for extra treatments I may have received. I am not sure how they think I received more treatments than I paid for since everything is on their computer and I have kept close track as I always feared they are a little disorganized and seem to have high turnover of aestheticians.

The “nurse or manager” (not exactly sure her title, told us that we had 3 visits during the time my daughter was at Children's hospital getting chemotherapy! I asked to review the dates in my chart and was very rudely told by Katie (nurse or manager) that I could only see my chart if I emailed aura01@frontier.com and could get a copy but would have to pay per page. She would not review the dates in my chart with me or confirm the dates my daughter had come to verify her remaining visits.

Katie said she was so busy managing the office, ordering supplies and doing paperwork, etc. she did not have time for me or customer service request. Duly noting “It was the least of her worries". She was so angry, mean, rude and unprofessional we left very concerned she was the only one there to do our treatments even after offering my another aesthetician when I stated my discomfort as she seemed so angry. I would not want her to ever do a treatment on me or my daughter.

I know that I have 1 photofacial IPL treatment and 2 small areas and my daughter has at least 6-7 medium areas left in our account. We are concerned about the level of professionalism, safety and care for the patients there that we cannot comfortably return. This place should not be doing anything with any patient. It is a terrible environment and the treatments if done improperly could cause irreparable harm to a person.

I have had other laser treatments and never ever had a bad experience until I came here. They do not care about you, or what they do for you, only how much money they can get from you. They are a liability waiting to happen.

The good news is while my daughter is now 9 months cancer free. I am so very grateful and don’t have time to waste on people or places like this. It is truly a terrible place. I am speaking as a customer, mom, nurse and business owner. Thank you!

Very disappointing experience!...

Very disappointing experience! As a business owner, you cannot treat clients like this and expect to stay in business. I could have been a loyal customer, but what Aura will never know is I had a budget that allowed for regular treatments. I bought a Groupon to check them out. They tried to cancel 3 out of the first 5 appointments (short notice). Having a business based on appointments, I suspect they wanted to cancel me to get a client in who was paying full price. After one cancellation, the owner tried to make me sound like the bad guy because they had to cancel. After another cancellation, the receptionist/manager argued with me, trying to tell me... if I had to reschedule, I would still get the full value of what I purchased. Sure, but weeks down the road, not right away. She didn't understand that and continued to debate with me. Even if she was right, maybe they have never heard that you can win the argument, but lose the sale. I tried to explain to the manager that they should "welcome" complaints, not challenge them... another reason to move on to a MediSpa that cares more about results and client satisfaction than their income. I would give negative Stars if i could.

2 more amendments....

On my first visit, the receptionist ignored me while she showed pictures of her new puppy to another staff member.

Secondly, having had Microderms and IPL's for years and seeing results, i think their settings were too low and they only did one pass. I even asked if they could increase the setting 3 times.

Don't waste your time or money.

DONT BUY their Groupons for La...

DONT BUY their Groupons for Laser Hair removal....there is a reason they keep selling them thru Groupon...mass fast cash, and nothing for it. These guys have done these Groupons 3 times in just over a year, talk about a cash grab...,and this time they are increasing their 6 sessions to 8....hmmmm, looking for more quick cash from unsuspecting.

The Laser they use does nothing...the laser itself isnt that great (check reviews), thats why they say for any skin type...but on top of that I dont think they are changing the tips. I bought 2 - SIX session packages for them...that is 12 sessions for my legs...guess what...nothing has changed!

I am not a virgin to laser hair removal...and I have the perfect skin type for it. Had my bikini done a few years ago, better laser, Better place...bikini free and clear. Now I have wasted alot of cash and more importantly alot of time.

As far as techs most were good, one I swear was just trained...but the worse is the manager KATY - OMG, this is one self centered, self absorbed, know it all....bad management!

Dont waste your time or money here, there are better places with results...pay a bit more and actually get something for your money!

And a side note...on Groupon they only are allowing reviews from sites where they have them loaded with positive reviews...NO YELP reviews on their! SHADDY company!

***UPDATE: 9.26.12 - AURA Laser Skin Care just called my personal cell # to THREATEN that if I didnt change my HONEST review of them that they would take "Action." Are you flippin kidding me...these guys are sooooooo SHADDY!! They mislead customers, then are rude when they are questioned about their service, then they think they can try and STRONG ARM people into changing their reviews. These guys should be happy that I wrote such a tame review of them...I have much more I can say about their "service." And as far as the "client" contacting you because they arent happy....duuhhh, already did that and got Katy, the joke of a manager, telling me I didnt know what I was talking about, kept infering that I was not telling the truth about the service I got...I never complained once, but the first time I did have a concern, I saw their true colors. Dont worry about contacting them if u have a concern or issue, cause they will call you, and probably with a threat. BEWARE!!!!!!!

"Thank you Aura Laser Skin Car...

"Thank you Aura Laser Skin Care! It is thanks to you that I looked young and beautiful at my daughter’s wedding. You provided me with your FotoFacial procedure in order to rid me of the many wrinkles on my hands, chest, and face. After two treatments, that you squeezed me in for despite your very busy schedule, I am nearly wrinkle free.

At the wedding I got so many compliments, some people said I looked even younger than I did at my own wedding some 25 years ago. I am so happy with the results, and I cannot begin to express my appreciation. You were very helpful from the start, and very fair in terms of pricing. I am so happy I chose you!

I highly recommend Aura Laser Skin Care, specifically their FotoFacial treatment option to anyone with any amount of wrinkles. They are a wonderful clinic to work with, and it is a very beautiful and friendly atmosphere to be in. Thank you Aura Laser Skin Care!"

I am 70 years old, and I have had my wrinkles for a long time. I thought that getting wrinkles was just a way of life, that I simply could not fight. I was wrong, way wrong. I heard about Aura Laser Skin Care, and how they had this fractional CO2 resurfacing machine where wrinkles literally disappeared after a single session. Obviously, I was skeptical.

I decided to try it anyway, and I am so happy I did. I feel 30 years younger, for many of my wrinkles were tightened. Not only that but my dark spot were gone!! It looks very natural, and I feel amazing. I believe this machine is just about the best thing to happen to me in my life. I recommend everyone who hits old age uses it, and wish they all feel as great as I do.

Aura Laser Skin Care is by far the most sterile and professional skin care facilities I have ever had the pleasure of going to. Going there was actually a pleasant experience, and the lovely doctor and young ladies who work there are so sweet and helpful.

I used to need to shave every day, and now I never need to again! After eight laser hair removal treatments with Aura, I am hair- free now!!! I never thought something this amazing was even possible.

Aura Laser Skin Care did a great job! I learned a lot during my free consultation, and everything that was relayed to me there in terms of pricing and service was true. The skin care technician was very gentle while treating areas that were a bit more sensitive.

I am very pleased with the service and they are all about results. They are a great place to visit, and I can’t thank them enough. Being hair free forever is AWSOME!!!!

"Fractional CO2 resurfacing was like entering a time machine. The wrinkles, defining my old age, literally disappeared. It was incredible, and Aura Laser Skin Care was an amazing place to do it. I had a consultation prior to beginning my treatment, and the professional said that the Fractional CO2 resurfacing procedure would best suit me. She was beyond right.

Aura Laser Skin Care was very professional from the get go. They were very organized when it came to planning my procedure, monitoring my productivity, and devising my payment plan (which was very fair). They were very kind to me, and also very gentle when dealing with certain more sensitive areas of skin.

The professionalism at Aura Laser Skin Care is evident, and I highly recommend anyone uses them. The place is also very easy to get to, and find parking at (always a plus). The facility is very beautiful, and has a serene feeling to it. Doing Fractional CO2 Resurfacing has changed my life for the better!

"As a child, I struggled with ...

"As a child, I struggled with severe acne over my face, chest, and back. It was mortifying, so I would always pick at my skin, and use face cremes that ultimately burned my skin. As a result, I was left with severe, permanent, and very noticable acne scars all over my face. I’ve been to a lot of very reputable dermatologists, but none were able to completely rid me of these scars.

I heard of Aura Laser Skin Care from my sister who used it for her sun spots. She claimed that the FotoFacial procedure changed her skin forever. When I saw her, I knew she was right. I called Aura Laser Skin Care and was treated really nicely. Even on the phone I could tell that they were very professional, and that they cared a lot about satisfying their customers. I had my consultation, and began the treatment right away. It worked absolute wonders! I am now scar free, and my skin has this natural glow to it. It is truly an amazing feeling. I feel as if my masc was taken off, and I can finally be me!

I highly recommend using Aura Laser Skin Care, their FotoFacial treatment changed my life! It is truly like a miracle, and I believe anyone with any sort of scarring should use it. Aura Laser Skin Care is most definitely the best place to do so, for it is beyond sterile, professional, and effective!"

I had deep, and very noticable, acne scars all over my face. I’ve went to countless renowned dermatologists for it, and none of their cremes and even pills seemed to work. I was about to lose hope when I heard of Aura Laser Skin Care and their FotoFacial machine. I tried it, and it worked wonders! After one time, my skin is radiant, even, and clear! I highly recommend Aura Laser, and their FotoFacial service for anyone seeking to get rid of acne scars!

Aura Laser Skin Care uses pred...

Aura Laser Skin Care uses predatory sales methods that take advantage of the naive and vulnerable! Judging by the reviews on Yelp it also takes advantage of more experienced adults.

My daughter went to Kirkland Aura Laser Skin Care last week to take advantage of the "free evaluation" for removing acne scars. She already had an appointment scheduled with her dermatologist, but an acquaintance of hers told her this was a "really good place" so she wanted to give it a try. She went to the Kirkland office and talked with "Jessica" (no last names are given out for any of the employees there, not even the manager). One of the first things she was asked was "How much money do you have?" Before my daughter left the place, she had been talked into signing a $1,000 contract for a "special package" that she had to take advantage of and pay the majority of immediately. This coincidentally was the exact amount that wiped out the savings she had been carefully collecting over the past year working a minimum wage job.

My daughter insisted on trying to take care of this situation by herself. She got in contact with Jessica the next business day to say she had changed her mind. Jessica said she didn't have time to see my daughter for another 4 days. (I assume reducing the ability to use the law regarding buyer's remorse.) By that time at least, my daughter had been talked into letting me come along. Jessica was very sweet, very smooth, but said "It is just company policy that we do not refund payment for contracts once they have been signed. We would not be able to stay in business if we did refund it." (You mean like legitimate businesses do?) She showed me the spot on the contract where is so stipulated. As I got angrier she remained calm and sweet, and had a well practiced, smooth response to everything I said. She is an experienced con-artist.

Jessica had never given my daughter a copy of the agreement she signed, so I asked for one. The office "didn't have a copy machine" but they would make one available if I came back in 24 hours. My husband got on the phone and asked for Jessica's last name, but was told it was company policy to not give out last names. He asked the name and contact information of her manager and the owner. He was given a first name only of the manager (no contact information) just the promise that he would get a phone call from this person within 72 hours. He asked for the name of the owner. Jessica said that it was a "silent owner" who prefers not to be identified.

My daughter feels devastated. She has learned a lesson I am sure she will remember. But I hope to also teach her that making a mistake that leaves you victimized does not mean you give up and just let it happen. I have never filed a complaint about a business before, never written a review like this. I don’t know if the sales practices at Aura are within legal limits, but they are definitely way outside of ethical. I will be pursuing a report to the Better Business Bureau and whatever else needs to be done as soon as possible.

Poking around on the internet, I discover that Aura Laser Skin Care is owned by Venus International LLC. According to the Washington Secretary of State, Venus International LLC (UBI Number 602471276) is located at the same address as the Bothell Aura. The headquarters of Venus are in Mumbai, India. The local agents are Nader Issa and Katayoun (aka “Katy”) Ghaemi.

Bought a voucher from Groupon ...

Bought a voucher from Groupon for 2 IPL Photofacials. I have fair skin and dark hair, of Asian Indian descent. The treatment itself did not hurt at all, just felt a little prickly. The treatment took no time at all, afterwards she applied Banana Boat Sport spf sunscreen (which is rated 7/10 meaning high hazard) on EWG's skin deep cosmetic database ! As soon as I got home I washed it off because I did not want my skin to get irritated since I am used to using low toxic skin products. I was surprised that a place that specialized in skin care used such products! Anyways, I followed skin care instructions but did not see ANY difference at all. No darkening/lightening, nor any peeling of the sun damage brown spots. I only had 3 small spots and even that did not improve! I went for a 2nd treatment and I still did not see a single change in my skin weeks after. I like to go to places where people are enthusiastic and optimistic about what they do. When I went here, there was definately a lack of smiles and enthusiasm. By just looking at the person doing my treatment I felt that she had no hope or enthusiasm about my treatment even working. And guess what, the treatment did not work! When I told her it didn't do anything for me the first time, she had nothing to say. She didn't promise much for the 2nd treatment either. Why specialize in something that can't even give customers results?!! Another deal site featured another laser skin care salon offering the same ipl treatments at half the price of the Aura Laser Skin Care. I love this other salon for my laser hair removal and wish I had waited to do my IPL Fotofacial there as well!!
