Pet insurance reimburses owners for a part of, or sometimes the whole, veterinary bill. We are an accredited veterinary hospital! Unlike human hospitals, animal hospitals are not required to be accredited. Veterinary hospitals are evaluated on approximately 900 standards of veterinary excellence in order to become accredited. AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited hospitals are recognized among the finest in the industry, and are consistently at the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine. The Standards of Accreditation are continuously reviewed and updated to keep accredited practices on the cutting edge of veterinary excellence. Their standards address patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and continuing education. To maintain accredited status, we must undergo comprehensive on-site evaluations every three years.
Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
At Cheshire Animal Hospital, we rely on state-of-the-art technology to help us identify the cause of skin conditions in pets. We will take a complete history of your pet’s environment, diet and previous treatment modality and medications to determine if the symptoms being seen are due to any of these factors. We can then submit blood samples to an outside lab that specializes in the detection and treatment of allergens.
