Kanine Kottage Pet Resort

We’ve boarded our dog Tucker 2x here and this place was perfect for him. A true country setting. Marie displays a sense of calmness and sensitivity. Tuck is a 6 yr old 90 LB retriever mix with tons of anxiety issues but is very comfortable with Marie. No crazy dog’s barking all the time. Recommended by Sunny Hill. So glad we came here.

Marie is the best. I have been bringing My Boss (dog) to Marie for 5 years now. We just got home and I was in my yard having a catch with him and I said "Boss do you miss Marie" He dropped his ball and ran to me tilting his head non stop then proceeded to my yard gate where my driveway is and my car. Thank you Marie for loving my Boss...he loves you too. He had a great week with you. So nice to know our fur baby is in such good hands.

I am making a second review. I have been using Marie for almost 5 years now. when we pull in the drive my pupper goes nuts. He thinks he is on vaca 🤣. My dog loves it here and so do i. The facilities are clean and quiet. Lots of play space. Marie really does a great job.

My dog Pele enjoyed his stay here last month. I found them to be clean and caring and would highly recommend them to anyone.

The Kanine Kottage is an excellent retreat for our golden retriever. We've been bringing Sheba there for over two years now, since old enough after her puppy days. Sheba has had a number of short stays and a couple of extended ones.



Marie runs her facility with both pets & owners in mind, making sure everyone is safe & taken care of. Her experience & knowldege of canines also shows. It is clear Marie enjoys running the Kanine Kottage. The facility is spacious and every consideraton is made for all her four-legged visitors.

I searched & inspected many kennels from the Capital District to the Catskills and found Marie's to be the most inviting. My 2 shelters who have never stayed outside of my home, were well taken care of for 5 nights. Marie's 40 years of experience truly shows. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

This is my review of our dogs stay at Marie's Cottage. Fantastic kennels, very clean and plenty of exercise space. I have been there several times and have yet to see any signs of neglect or Marie's inability to handle any situation that may arise. She has a complete understanding of behavioral issues.

My dogs are all AKC registered and titled and represent thousands of hours and much money and travel time. I assure you that I would not leave them with "family" when we travel!! I have complete confidence in Marie's ability to handle any problems that may arise with them and act accordingly, to my satisfaction. I recommend her services 100%.

We have been using this kennel for over 6 years since our goldendoodle was a pup. We found out about Marie through word of mouth & have highly recommended her facility to others. She is a knowledgeable person who genuinely cares about the animals she boards. The cottage is super clean & has tons of space for the dogs to run in the fenced, shaded yard. Our dog actually looks forward to her stays there & runs to greet Marie when we get out of the car.

Do not go here if your dog barks. At all! We came back from vacation only to find out that she "disciplined our dog by spraying him with water when he barked". I would rather have been called on vacation and been able to have someone to come pick him up. We will not be back again!

Marie is wonderful. Very understanding of animal behavior. She exercises the dogs, they have a large fenced in area and the "cottage" is kept very clean. No odor when you walk in. Our 'working' retriever was in good spirits when we went to pick her up. I highly recommend this facility.

Nice facilities but owner really didn't know how to deal with a puppy. Told us not to bring back dog because it barked during the night and wouldn't listen. It's a puppy just like a baby they need to be taught and nurtured obviously she has no patience and is only looking to make an easy dollar. Look elsewhere if you have a healthy active dog.
