I have had gun training in the past, but it was nowhere near as thorough and enjoyable as training with Jorge has been. With his advice, I was able to find a handgun with which I'm very comfortable. As a woman, I appreciated that Jorge did not patronize me or sugarcoat real-life issues to consider and prepare for. I highly recommend training at the Citadel, especially for those unfamiliar with guns and the laws of Texas.

We wish there were more stars to rate Jorge!! Not only was the class informative but it was enjoyable as well. Deborah and I left the Citadel Institute confidant that Jorge had covered everything we needed to know to legally and safely carry our weapon. We could not recommend the Citadel more. We plan to return for the marksmanship class soon.

Jorge is thorough, knowledgeable, patient, and covers not just the laws, but the "real life" application of it, and how it affects, or could affect, an LTC holder. I also learned a massive amount regarding other defensive methods. This last is very important to me, because I am in a wheelchair. On that subject, for reasons known only to themselves, many LTC instructors will not take on an individual in a wheelchair, but Jorge sees it as a necessity that people with mobility impairments be given the same opportunity to learn how to defend themselves as anybody else. It's just not possible to say enough good things about him and his program.

I walked away from my LTC course at Citadel Firearms Institute a different person - for the better. Jorge's training was outstanding and comprehensive, covering everything from safe and proper handling of the firearm, to situational awareness, the possibility of various threats and use of force that may be required, the consequences and ramifications of pulling the trigger, legal protection with Texas Law Shield in the event of the use of deadly force, Texas regulations, and use of the firearms in his onsite firing range. Not only did I walk away from the training a better person, but I now have confidence in my skills, knowledge and handling of the firearm and am well prepared to defend myself and my family should the need arise. For anyone looking for the absolute highest quality of training and affordability, Citadel is it. I will be back for additional training in the future.

EXCEPTIONAL. Walked in unsure and very nervous. Walked out informed and confident!!!! Such an awesome wealth of knowledge that surpasses just handguns. Learned a lot. Still just the tip of the iceberg! Looking forward to continuing my education with Citadel!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I took a Beginners Rifle class last Sunday at Eagle Peak with Mr Zamora.



I was impressed with his professionalism an knowledge of firearms. The best part of the class was that he never made me feel stupid or ignorant for my lack of firearms...he answered every question I had including giving me a history lesson about the progression of the rifles. It was a quick 8 hr class, time goes fast when you are having fun and learning from the best I guess.



Thank you Sir...I will be coming for more classes in 2014.

I'm happy with the class that My son and I took with the Citadel Firearms Institute. It was my sons 21st birthday and I wanted him to be able to have his own Concealed Handgun permit





It was a large class but Mr Zamora take the time to get everyone to the same level of comfort and proficiency with the firearms, taking special attention to detail and safety.





We both had fun and learned together. Excellent job sir...keep up to good work.

I'm the shotgun breacher for my group and I recently took the defensive shotgun class from Citadel and I learned more in this class about solving problems and being able to run my Mossberg than what I learned in the Army for my MOS. I wanted to say thanks for the feedback and help I got from you...I feel that I can better serve with the knowledge I have now..I will be deploying again in a few months so I wanted to write this now better than later.

I took a private class with my wife. We both use revolvers and we love to carry them...but we wanted to up our skills.

I took the Concealed Handgun Class from this company based on the recommendation of a friend.



I was amazed of the class size. We had about 20 people in the class mostly women. Jorge took the time to clear all fears from me and other is the class, he carried a very professional class and answered all the questions we as a group had. From where to wear our guns to the best equipment to use, the gun laws and the application of force (this was very important to me since I have never been in a situation where my life has been in danger). I came to the class with very high expectations and I was not disappointed. I carry because I'm a Realtor in very remote areas of Texas...I have now the confidence that I can take care of myself if needed. Thanks to the Citadel

I'm stationed at Ft. Hood Texas but was deployed for 18 months with the 82nd airborne.



I took a Defensive rifle class with 4 of my other members in my team and we just had a blast and learned so many things that frankly the Army never showed us.



Excellent class in July, but it was not easy at all I still feel that 2 day class..it was brutal . Thanks again. Oh and hope you like our units Challenge Coin Sir.

I wanted to say Thank to Mr Zamora from the Citadel Firearms Institute in Georgetown.



He made my feel so secure while taking the basic handgun class. I was so scared when I made the life decision of purchasing a firearm for my protection.



I have always been scared of firearms but after taking his basic handgun class; I'm now able to clean and maintain my handgun...He took the time to explain every detail I needed to know for the care of my handgun. I can assemble and disassemble it with my eyes closed...He also took the time to show me what to look for in a gun both for protection and for sport.



But it did not stop there. After I purchased my handgun and I made a mistake in the assembly I called him and he just walked me step by step so I could resolve the issue...for no charge at all.



I love the way the class was done. Simple with terms and examples that I could understand.

I took the class in January and now I'm I'm a member of the GSSF and go to competitions thanks to him and his staff.

I took the class last March and I loved it...lots of practical information on Concealed carry and also Jorge goes over the safety factors. As father of a 4 year old boy I wanted to have a good understanding about how to secure my handguns. He also offers family awareness classes regarding firearms safety. So I took the family to one of the private classes and my wife liked it so much she is taking the CHL class in May.

I was not a fan of guns but my wife purchased a certificate in December for me to go and learn how to shoot. I got to admit it...I'm hooked.



The classes make it look so easy. Every question I had I got a logical answer to it. I was so stressed before the class...because of a few things:



1.- Classes start super early..7am...dear god!

2.- I had never talked to Jorge before.

3.- The class was 15 people and I was thinking that I was not going to get any attention...well I was wrong...we all got the attention.



Anyway... after 8hr of class and range time... I came back to my wife with a selection the gun I wanted to purchase, holster, cleaning kit, solvents and lubrication for the future gun...3 days later I had my gun and I was sending my wife for her lesson as a surprise...I have full confidence that she will me well taken care of by the Citadel.



I recommend it to anyone.

I wanted to let everyone know that the Citadel Firearms Institute was the place where I did my NRA first steps and then I took my Citadel Practical Handgun Skills class...They classes prepared my for the Texas CHL class...Yup you guessed it..



I also took the class with Mr Zamora at the Citadel.



The class was well organized, on time and he answered every question we had. The class was mostly women and Jorge made us all feel safe and comfortable. The class was not the typical Male teaching females and all the talk down.



I took my first class at Red's indoor range in Pflugerville 2 year and I did not complete my CHL paperwork because that class did not give me the confidence to carry a loaded gun...But after attending the classes from the Citadel. I completed my CHL paperwork and I got the permit mailed in after 45 days.



I also love that I can contact Jorge and his team for any additional questions about anything firearms related....At no extra charge.



I sent my husband to the rifle class for his birthday and he loved it...he came bad dirty and stinking after a day at the class...but it was worth it to see a smile on his face!



The place is family owned and family oriented. That counts!.

I found the Citadel by chance on the internet.

I'm so glad that I took my CHL class from Jorge, he is by far the best firearms instructor that I have had the pleasure of taking instruction from...I would place him almost as close to the big names as Paul Howe. I drove all the way from Spring Tx. $ hrs way to be in his class. That is how strong I feel about his professionalism. I know that the price is a bit high, but it is well worth the money for what you learn.



I recommend Jorge and the Citadel for a few reasons:

1.- Excellent knowledge of the defensive arts. It does not matter if it is a Rifle, handgun, shotgun, knife or hand to hand...You do not want to be on the bad side of him.



2.- The classes are very interactive and he provide positive feedback and re-enforces the concepts such a simple way that it you will remember it.



3.- His staff is excellent both in customer service before and after the courses.



4.- The equipment was in excellent conditions not like in Gander M.



I'm sending my wife and friend to the next classes in 2013.



Oh and the defensive pistol class...well you need to be in shape for it..!



I Highly recommend the Citadel.

I took the Texas CHL Course which is 10 HR LONG...I was not looking forward to having to sit thru a course for 10 hrs...But it all changed as soon as the class started.

The class is Super interactive and has real world examples..Jorge is an excellent instructor. He was able to respond to all our questions while keeping the class alive. This is not your regular Conceal Handgun Course where the instructor just talks or worst reads the Powerpoint...You learn the real concept of the use of deadly force, but it did not stop at that...will aslo teach you lots of defensive tips and trick that actually work. I saw myself improving my shooting technique in just minutes with his help.



I will recommend this Company to friend and family, my wife and daughter are going to the next class.

I'm so new to the gun world that I needed so much help...well Jorge and the Citadel are always there to help out.



I started taking classes from the Citadel because Austin Gun Liquidators In Round Rock Tx. recommended them to me... So I called them and I scheduled a basic handgun class...it was wonderful. At the end of the class I was able to take apart and reassmeble my handgun without help, I knew my carry gun inside and out also how to clean it and the most important thing of all the attitude of owning a firearm.



Yes I was scared at first but Jorge helped my get comfortable with all the task at hand. I loved the class so much that I signed up the very next month for my CHL with them again...The class was a blast, interactive and informative.



I'm now competing in IPSC and my coach is the Citadel....!



I have also taken my little ones to the basic orientation class and if my kids and husband love the class and paid attention...that is saying something about the instructor caliber...I highly recommend the Citadel to anyone.
