I brought my car in for airbags and a chop and couldn't be happier, sure they stayed late nights and sure they greeted me with a smile when I came in to check on my vehicle, but I won't hold it against them.



The work that was done was done well, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy when I left. Bottom line- my car was done when they said it was gonna be done, the price was as we agreed and the work was top notch. Thanks fellas!!

Took a 51 chevy in over a period of time he accepted thousands of dollars to customize chevy.. the chevy was never returned never leave your vehicle you will never get it back and always pay in a check or credit card he doesn't give receipts for cash.do not trust this place. This place is a jack. And you won't get your vehicle back

Go somewhere else. Received estimate for work on parts of classic vehicle to be painted along with performance engine upgrades and replacements. Being in San Diego we are limited to the number of shops we can go to. A name like SD Rod and Custom draws people in thinking they know what they are doing but don't be fooled. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Part of the job consisted of painting. Along with a new engine, and transmission that later kept giving us trouble until taken to another shop. New equipment but poor install, parts and efforts. There was no attention to detail to keep the parts clear of dust or overrun. Was done so in a hurry with areas missing etc, blotched, overall nasty. Not what you paid for. Was the money not enough? (10k spent here) Maybe shop is not set up to paint appropriately. Looks like something one could have done in their backyard in open air, during a sand storm with a spray can. Engine parts were replaced numerous times. Come to find out guy said "We cannot guarantee these China parts" Uh...This is an American Custom Classic. Why would you put China parts? Save a penny here and there and take short cuts perhaps. I doubt the work was inspected before returning the vehicle. A major disappointment. Shop came up with the amount of estimate not the customer. Had to go to another shop to get the parts done professionally. Engine modifications keep failing and vehicle keeps being returned for the same work to be troubleshooted. Save your time and money and take it somewhere else to be done right the first time around.
