Dr. Tristan and Dr. Kathy moved to Iowa in 2006. He worked at the Eastern Iowa Veterinary Specialty Center as an emergency veterinarian, where he treated a wide variety of animals with serious conditions and was able to put his strong surgical skills to use. He later accepted a position as an Associate Veterinarian at Tender Care Animal Hospital in Coralville. It was there that he developed a strong interest in small animal dentistry. He was mentored by a board-certified veterinary dentist and became very proficient in advanced dental procedures.

Our comprehensive pain management services are designed to address acute and chronic pain. We are equipped to handle pain associated with arthritis, dental disease, injuries, surgeries, wounds, and more. In addition to addressing the pain management needs of our patients, we will also educate owners on ways to manage their pet's pain at home. Drs. Tristan and Kathy moved back to Oklahoma in the summer of 2011. They purchased the existing Tidwell Animal Hospital in Duncan and it became Osage Animal Hospital. They have devoted themselves to providing the best possible, most advanced care for pets in Southern Oklahoma. They have a warm, family-oriented approach to veterinary medicine. Dr. Kathy enjoys spending the majority of her time seeing patients, ranging from routine wellness exams to chronic, serious illnesses. She also performs ultrasounds and treats patients with chemotherapy, when necessary.

Osage Animal Hospital is located in Duncan, Oklahoma. It is a full service companion animal hospital. Our commitment is to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to provide routine preventative care for young, healthy pets. We strive to provide early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages, and to provide complete medical and surgical care when needed during his or her lifetime.

Following graduation, he and Dr. Kathy moved to Boise, Idaho. Dr. Tristan worked at a small animal practice in Emmett, Idaho. He quickly found his passion for small animal surgery and performed many surgical procedures, both routine and complex. While living in the Northwest, he was able to do what he loves so much, spending time in the outdoors, hunting and hiking.

Laboratory Services
All of our patients receive a physical examination before surgery. Pre-surgical blood screening and IV fluids are recommended. Our pre-surgical blood screening includes a CBC (complete blood count) as well as electrolyte and chemistry panels. Lab work is recommended to detect any existing medical issues that may need to be addressed before surgery is performed. IV fluids are recommended because they help regulate blood pressure, keep the patient hydrated, and flush out the anesthesia for faster recovery. They are also very important because they allow rapid administration of necessary drugs in the unlikely case of an emergency.
X-Ray
Dental Radiology
A thorough dental cleaning can only be performed with a pet under anesthesia. Our dental cleanings are performed using an ultrasonic scaler and polisher to remove the build-up of plaque and tartar on the teeth. A complete dental examination cannot be performed without dental x-rays, just like people receive at their dentist each year. Digital dental x-rays are taken to look at the parts of the teeth that are under the gum line, the parts that we can't see from the surface. Dental x-rays can show problems with the tooth roots, broken teeth, or even oral tumors. The pet is monitored by both a veterinary technician and the veterinarian while under anesthesia for the dental procedure. Following the dental cleaning, a member of our staff will go over home dental care techniques that may be used to help lengthen the time between dental visits. Most pets could benefit from a thorough dental cleaning once each year.
