Fumi Hibachi and Sushi

After walking in and seeing how snazzy this restaurant looked, I had high hopes that the experience would match the ambiance. Unfortunately, it didn't quite measure up. But I'm hoping that it was due to the fact that we visited during opening weekend, and Fumi hasn't had a chance to work out the kinks yet.

The wait was a bit long for some of the sushi bar items that were ordered. Our server was nice, but a bit clumsy and hard to find at times. And although there's a huge banner outside that advertised 10% off on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, our server forgot to add the discount to our checks and we were given coupons to use instead. Except, only one coupon can be used per table which means our party of 5 would have to come back separately in order to get the discount that we were supposed to receive in the first place. And on the rare occasion that I wanted to order dessert, their dessert offerings were not yet available. The fried ice cream at their sister restaurant, Taki, was delish and I was ready to have some again...but to no avail.

Fumi's already a bit of a trek for us since we're downtown, and have access to plenty of our sushi restaurants. But I'm willing to give them another try after they establish themselves. The sushi was goo
