Oral Cancer Screening
As a new patient, we will spend as much time as needed to learn about you. We will give you a tour of our office; you will see our technology and sterilization center. We will review your medical record, dental history and any questions and concerns. Your initial exam will include digital radiographs, intra-oral photographs, periodontal charting, restorative charting as well as an oral cancer screening.

Dr. Mario Abdennour is a microscope trained endodontist that specializes in conventional non-surgical root canal treatment as well as surgical root canal treatment.

Periodontics is the specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of all aspects of the periodontium- the supporting structure of teeth. This includes conservative treatments such as scaling and root planning and delivery of time released pharmaceuticals (antibiotics). Dr. Marc Pearlstein graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1992. Upon completion of a one-year General Practice Residency at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, he returned to the University of Pittsburgh to complete a three-year specialty residency in Periodontics. Marc has been in private practice in the Boston area since 1996 and specializes in treating gum disease (such as gum surgery) and performing implant surgery. His skills will be a true asset allowing us to provide more complex care in the comfort of our office. Marc enjoys golf and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Tooth Extractions
Our office provides many of the advanced dental procedures often necessitating outside referrals. Access to an onsite periodontist and endodontist allows unprecedented comprehensive care. Our doctors will direct your care plan even through complex issues such as root canal therapy, gum surgery, implants or wisdom teeth extraction.
Bone Grafting
If we are expecting to replace the tooth being extracted with an implant, sometimes bone grafting is done to preserve sufficient bone. Dr. Pearlstein, our periodontal surgeon, will often place a bone graft in the socket at the time of the extraction.

Dr. Abdennour currently holds a faculty appointment as a clinical instructor at the Advanced Graduate Endodontic Program at Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he teaches surgical and non-surgical Endodontics. He has been lecturing Harvard Dental students annually, local component State Dental Societies in the areas of Endodontic Surgery and Non-Vital Intracoronal Bleaching.
