Cryotherapy
The treatment for actinic keratoses will depend on the location and size of the affected area. We typically recommend cryotherapy or photodynamic therapy combined with blu light therapy. Cryotherapy involves freezing off the affected areas of skin. Photodynamic therapy and blu light therapy use light energy to kill skin cells, preventing continued growth and the development of skin cancer. During your consultation, we will determine the best treatment for your situation and provide you with additional information on what you can expect from treatment.

Internal Medicine
Dr. Rhonda Baldone earned her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine. She completed an internship in internal medicine, followed by a residency in dermatology, where she holds an appointment as an assistant clinical professor of dermatology. Dr. Baldone is board certified in dermatology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Mohs Surgery
Mohs surgery is an in-office procedure that takes a few hours to perform. The treatment is performed using local anesthesia to minimize any discomfort that may occur during treatment. First, we will remove the visible portion of the tumor or cancerous growth. After removing a layer of skin, it will be examined under a microscope. By viewing the removed skin up-close, we will be able to tell if there are cancerous cells remaining in the next layer of skin. If there are, we will continue to remove the affected areas of skin. This process is repeated until there are no cancerous cells remaining.

Jueveau® is one of the newest FDA-approved injectable treatments used to improve the appearance of fine lines and moderate wrinkles around the brows, forehead, and eyes. Also commonly referred to as #NEWTOX, Jueveau® is often compared to Botox® for its natural-looking results. Skin Cancer
Cancer screening is a method of analyzing and testing the skin to determine if skin cancer is present. Cancer screenings typically begin with the visual observation of the skin.
