Happy Valley Ace Hardware

The staff is quite attentive which is really nice because I don't feel like I need to go wander and find someone to get their attention when I need help. I was buying paints for the first time and didn't really know what to do so they people there helped me pick out the right kinds as well as helped pick out a nice color scheme with the main color I was after. I've been here numerous times and I honestly have had awesome customer service each time! Even after talking to the staff a little bit, they are all quite friendly.

Horrible experience all 3 time's i have been in. The staff literaly from the moment you pull up and park are giving you a look of death. As you walk in the look annoyed and will follow you eve if you say im fine i need no help. They loom around the corner and hover over you and stare you down. If you do have a question they will frumply escort you or just point. Location is always dead, all staff is condescending, unprofessional, unwilling to disclose details about ther sales until you are purchasing and will sigh, roll their eyes, and throw back the items you decided not to purchase becuase the sale in the ad didn't quite match up to the same. I find that shady especially since otjer retailers offer the same items for a way bigger savings. I wanted to support my local neighbor, but i value myself and feel my money should be spent where deserved. I do not recommend this location. Many of friends and coworker's have had the same experience. Beware and trust the reviews.

I went down today to check out our new local hardware store. I was looking for a few plants for my yard, but the plant selection was minimal. The store does seem nice & appears to have a great selection of "hardware". I saw in the gardening department that Miracle Grow potting soil was on sale for $6.99 (regular $9.99) I waited in line & told the clerk that I was going to drive around and grab one of the $6.99 sale bags of soil. She rang it up and offered me a True Value card while she was doing that. I told her I would wait until next time to get a card (there was a long line) --she nodded & I swiped my card-- the total came up as $9.99- and I asked, "isn't that soil on sale? " while I was saying this my receipt popped up-- she then told me "you only get the sale price if you have a True Value card"- Now, I was very clear when I went to the register what I was purchasing, and what I was expecting to pay, shouldn't the cashier inform me BEFORE I decline the True Value card, and BEFORE I swipe my credit card how their "sale" works. I took my soil, and vowed never to return to a store with mean-spirited workers. It may be the most convenient hardware store to my home, but I won't be back
