- Dr. Matthew Johnson is a native Texan, from Victoria. He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. He then completed his pediatric dental residency at New York University. He worked in a private practice in New York City before returning home to Texas. Dr. Johnson is experienced in dental trauma, conscious sedation, Hospital Dentistry, Special Needs Patient Care and maintains an Associate Faculty position at New York University's Pediatric Dentistry Department. Dr. Johnsons hobbies include basketball, golf, skiing, traveling and music.

We have been seen him for the last 7 years and had to change dentist because our son has anxiety and he was so calm and was able to talk to our son to get him to let him clean his teeth. He feels so comfortable here I have no problem with taking him to the dentist anymore

Provided by Doctor.comWe first came to Dr. Johnson after lots of friends recommended him for a second opinion. We've stayed ever since. He's patient with both of my kids, including my son who was a very nervous for his first visit. Each time we come back my son gets more comfortable and has a great time.

Provided by Doctor.comDr Johnson is an excellent dentist He clearly explains his diagnosis and easily relates to both my kids when giving them advise. My oldest daughter is graduating high school and we both will be sorry to have to get a new dentist for her..He has been excellent the time he has treated her. I would recommend him to everyone I know.
