Yale Cleaners Corporate Office

I got hired on at the 101st and Sheridan cleaners by Linda. I filed with corporate and started 2 days later.. 1 week later I told Linda (the store manager) that I had a guardianship court date coming up on the 21st of December and then the next day Linda pulls me aside and terminates me because of lying on my application about being convicted of a misdemeanor/felony.. at least that's what she said corporate said. First of all, there was no background check authorized... second of all I called corporate ten minutes after this happened and asked why I was terminated and what charge I've been convicted of... and the lady I spoke with said a dui charge. I have never in my life been charged with a dui and convicted of it. So I told her that and I could bring proof and then she proceeds to ask me "then what charge is it". Meaning they had no idea what my court date was for, didn't have any valid proof of a conviction of any sort, and I didn't lie on my application. I can have an attorney prove that for me. So my question is, why did out of the blue corporate calls saying I lied on my application about a conviction and they didn't know what the conviction was or what I was charged with and the lady made up a dui charge on the phone. I believe because I had a court date coming up that I told my manager about 2 1/2 weeks in advance that she wasn't happy I would be missing work for 2-3 hours in the morning and told corporate, since I was on a 90 day probation period, and they just lied about my application just to terminate me for a valid reason. This is right before Christmas...I have two small children 23 month old and an 11 month old and I was terminated for no valid reason and the woman at corporate lied to me on the phone. I have a more than excellent resume and references. I worked as a front desk clerk at a hotel for over 3 years and have more than enough experience to work at a damn dry cleaning store. I will be reporting this company to the better businesss bureau.
