Money comes before care

Dr. Sheafor and his wife/surgery center RN/office manager Jen have shown very clearly they prioritize money over the health and well being of their patients. It seems they have found loop holes in the health system to outright refuse treatment and even consultations for patients that don't have top-tier insurance.
Dr. Sheafor has privileges to perform surgery at Peacehealth St. Josephs but only does surgery in his own office so he can double bill patients both as a doctor and as a surgery suite. I am not sure if he does this because of a poor relationship with the hospital, or just because he sees an opportunity to extort his patients with top tier insurance. The latter seems more likely, after seeing Dr. Sheafor's refusal to perform necessary surgery on patients with medicare or the like.
If you or a family member need foot care, I strongly recommend you go to an orthopedic doctor, your primary care doctor, or a different podiatrist, even if you have to travel out of town. If you don't have top tier insurance, a visit with Dr. Sheafor will be a frustrating waste of time and money. If you do have top tier insurance, do research on what he is recommending and what he says is 'covered' before he milks you and your insurance plan for all he can.

Great Professionalism and Caring Podiatrist

I have been seeing Dr. Mark Sheafor for several years due to various foot and/or ankle related issues. From day one of that very first visit to my most recent visit he has never failed to impress me my exhibiting kindness along with showing consideration and respect no matter what kind of podiatry issues I was having at the time. He explains in detail what the problem(s) are and what course(s) of action are available to fix the problem. If you don't understand the medical jargon then ask him to explain it to you in layman's terms and he will gladly do so happily. If you have issues with pain, then let him know; he will do his utmost best to eliminate that pain...whether that pain is the reason for the visit or pain from any procedure that is needed to fix the problem. If you should be suffering from any type of anxiety about the procedure, then please be rest assured that he will take this to heart; he will be very considerate of you and your emotional state as he tries to help you get through the procedure as quickly as possible. I very rarely write reviews, but after my most recent minor procedure in which I came to the realization that he still exhibits the same professionalism as he did in the beginning along with being the most sincerest podiatrist, especially in how he treats his patients and makes them feel like he truly cares about them not only as a patient, but as a person who matters. I can't say enough about this podiatrist/physician who does an excellent job working on people's feet and who made my last procedure very painless and aesthetically pleasing to a novice such as myself. If you have any foot and or ankle issues, then I would suggest that you give Dr. Mark Sheafor a call...you have nothing to lose by taking that first step to see if he can help.
